Not necessarily food aversion

So I have had some aversions like most people but the weird thing I find is I will eat something and totally enjoy it in the moment and then when I think about it later, or go back for the leftovers I can't stand the thought of that particular food. Anyone else in the same boat?

  • You have leftovers?!?

J/K my opinions on foods vary day to day, minute to minute. Nothing is etched in stone at this point...at least for me.

  • Ugh yes. I do have food aversions, but I know I have to eat (obviously). Even if it's something I can stomach I can only eat a couple bites and then I need to get it out of my sight before I vomit. And I definitely throw up in my mouth a little if I think about it.

  • Yes i get the same feeling. Im just soooo indicisive with all foods. My DH is a chef (which is usually sooo fantastic) but at the moment i know im frustrating him because he tries to make yummy foods and then im not interested at all. Then sometimes i just discover i really dont like something. Latest thing is chicken. So sad! I hope the 2nd trimester is better!
  • I was craving a juicy steak from outback. I had a fit until my bf brought me and when the steak arrived in front me, I got naseous and never touched it. :(

Whoa I'm in the exact same situation!  My DH is also a chef and is disappointed that I'm becoming picky and chicken is the thing I'm not feeling like either at the moment.
I think my DH is happy he will be back to nights this week so he doesn't have to deal with me lol...

  • I ate a lot of subway, even had a footling yesterday (hadn't eaten a footling since high school, when I could eat anything). Something about heating up the meat is starting to ruin it for me. I'm eating a ton of Lucky Charms, which I never eat, and feel like those are on the way out too!
  • I am having the same thing. I am the chef, or was :) and it's killing me. My favorite downtime was reading cookbooks and now I can't even look at a recipe without wanting to barf. I go to the store and things sound good until I get home. I have been able to sometimes make myself order something at a restaurant and eat it but no go if I have to prepare it.
Poor hubby is really struggling with cooking his own food... Haha
  • I am feeling the same way!!! I am loosing weight, and my DH thinks I'm just being picky. I described it as.

"If you were to eat 3 servings of Thanksgiving Dinner, then someone brought out a side of liver and onions that they made from scratch and would be offended if you didn't eat" (except I'm hungy but that's the only thing I can liken it to!) I really do feel like I'm on fear factor with a plate of bull testicles in front of me sometimes hahaha

Is this considered a form of morning sickness?

  • YES! We're usually so good about meal planning and eating healthy and it's all fallen to the wayside. DH does all the cooking and he's not frustrated but I feel back when he can't think of meals to cook that sound remotely appetizing. Poor guy.

  • Ughhhhh this is me 100%. It's such a pain. Happened last time, too. Every craving turned into an aversion as soon as I ate it. For a long while last pregnancy that only things I could stomach were Wawa mashed potatoes and Kraft Mac n Cheese.

The upside is that I've had fast food a few times and now I want nothing to do with it.
  • I just don't want healthy food. At all. It's hard for me to stick to my typical "diet" of real food when all I want is processed carbs and fast food. And someone better bring me the chinese I have been craving for two weeks now.... We moved to a small town and I don't feel like going 50 minutes to a chinese place lol.
