Parenting after a Loss

OPK users, come on in!

Hi ladies!

So I did OPKs with my pregnancy with DS and the pregnancy I miscarried, and this has not happened before...I am now on day 4 of positive OPKs.  No question about them being positive.  100% clear test results.  Has this happened to anyone else?  Should we just keep BDing until I get a negative?

I do not temp so I can't use that as any indication as to whether I O'ed or not.  Also, not a defective pack because I had about 7 days of negatives before I got any positives.

Very strange, but man am I tired of all the sex!!!

Thanks in advance for any help!

  • That is a lot of positives, but just keep on testing until they are negative again.  Do you track cervical mucous?  That can be helpful too when you don't have a temp shift to confirm.

  • I agree with the PPs. Your body can absolutely gear up to O and your LH can surge, but your body just won't pull the trigger. So annoying! Just keep humping and testing. Maybe consider temping next cycle so you're not trapped in OPK hell, unless of course this is a BFP cycle :)

  • Lurking... PP are probably right that its just a long surge, but if it is positive again tomorrow, take a pregnancy test. Don't dip the HPT in the same pee though as that can cause a false positive.

After 7 days of negative OPKs it's not likely a pregnancy causing all these positives, but since OPKs do react to HCG as well as LH, and since you are TTC, it would be good to rule that out. Multiple OPKs is how I discovered my second pregnancy.

  • Thanks ladies.  I was also wondering about a possible pregnancy.  I did get another positive today (5 in a row) so better safe than sorry.  :)
