scared of the poop

Today is day 4 of my LO not pooping. She had been super gassy and every time she lets one go, I cringe and expect the worst. I know it's coming and I know it will be a huge explosion with great force. She's meeting her great grandma this afternoon for the first time and I think I may need to dress her in layers so no one gets hurt! I know this can be common in ebf babies but we've never gone this long before! What's the longest your LO has gone without pooping and was it as bad as a blowout as you were expecting?

We went 3 days just this past week. It wasnt so bad thankfully she pooped it all out in 2 seperate poops instead of 1 massive poop.

We have yet to experience this and I'm dreading it. The longest he's gone is 24 hours.

I think the longest my LO has been poop free is about 24 hours. She's a poop machine, for real.

My DD poops like 5 times a day, or more! Usually just 1 or 2 big ones, the rest are just a tiny bit. Is this abnormal?

Same here! 1-2 big ones in the morning, then some little smears throughout the day.

Mine went a week without pooping when he was itty bitty. Recently he's gone 5 without. We refer to him as our infrequent pooper. He's never gone without filling the diaper, so I really don't know what it would be like to just have a little poop. The diaper normally contains it though, we've only had leakage a few times.

Two days and when she did finally go it was quite the blow out. I was having a cream tea with some other mothers from the baby massage class when all of a sudden I felt something warm and damp.....I was mortified.

Mine used to poo with every feed but it's tapered off to once a day now.

Same here. I know it's coming though. I think 3 mo is when that gastrocolic reflex goes away. LO is 13 wks. So it's coming. I hope he's in cloth when he does. They catch so much more.

My LO poops every 2-3 days. He has gone as long as 5 days between poops though. And yeah, it was an amazing explosion when it happened.

This baby has gone as long as 8 hours. He is a poop machine only now not pooping at night. My DD would go 4-5 days then have a blowout in her swing or bouncer. I would always wrap her in a receiving blanket before letting anyone hold her and bring extra outfits for both of us when we went out.

Yes that's what I was told. It says in my discharge notes from the hospital to seek medical advice from a doctor if baby doesn't poo within 48hours. I think this might only apply to newborns.
