What to expect with progesterone?

Ladies, due to pcos I've had some really irregular, pretty constant bleeding for three months (it's been terrible). Therefore, while we wait for the hubby to have sperm extraction surgery, my dr has given me progesterone to help me reset my body, because up until three months ago i had very regular periods. What should I expect? Any advice?

IVF #1 Oct 2013- cancelled 
IVF #2 Mar 2014- success.... baby girl born 11/28/14
FET #1 Mar 2016- baby boy due 12/16/16

    I've been taking it the last two cycles, starting 4dpo.  I haven't had any side effects, although I've heard a few people say they get more food cravings?  And the RE said a few people get nauseous if they have it on an empty stomach (assuming you take the oral capsules).  I don't think the side effects are nearly as noticeable as some of the other meds.


    Me 33, DH 37 -- TTC since Jan'12 -- Low AMH (0.78) & endo, SA w/ low motility
    IUI's 1-3 = BFN, IVF converted to IUI 4/13 = BFN
    IVF 1.2: 8R 6M 4F -- 2 blastocysts frozen, FET 8/15 = BFP!!
    Beta #s = 445;1,098; 9,545  -- EDD 5/2 -- Team Pink!
    Camila Josephine arrived 4/30 :)

    My only real "side effect" was that my hormones/emotions were even more crazy than usual - like I spent the entire morning one day at work in the bathroom sobbing hysterically - for absolutely NO REASON!

    Otherwise, I didn't have any issues - I took mine right before bed, so I avoided any issues with nausea...

    Still testing to determine my high testosterone levels

    I took mine before bed.... I was hungry and bloated... but other than that... wasn't to bad.. :)

    Me:38 DH:40 TTC for over 3 yrs~
    Every test known to man- comes out that we are both perfectly capable of conceiving- 

    Officially diagnosed with "unexplained infertility"

    7/17/13-1st try with 100mg Clomid+Novarel+Prog.
    7/25/13 Mid-cycle U/S- 4 Follicles! 17, 16,L 16,15 R
    7/25/13 Trigger shot
    8/6/13 Beta Blood Drawn... Big fat Neg. 
    New RE:- 101 tests done during break cycle.. All look great! green light to hit the deck running!
    9/18/13- Cd 1- FINALLY! 100 mg clomid CD3-7- 75iu Bravelle 7-10   
    9/30/13 Follie count.. 3 on right. 2 on left-- trigger today
    10/2/13- IUI #1
    10/15/13 Beta #1- BFN.. :(

    Thanks for the input ladies.  Yes, I'm taking the oral capsule, and last night was my first dose so I took it at 9pm.  I'm really hoping this helps reset my body, because bleeding all summer has not been awesome.  Fingers crossed :-)

    I've never had any notable side effects from it.
