If your kid is in DC...

Does anyone else's kid cry like their hearts are breaking when you show up to pick them up from DC? I mean, she's fine through the glass, then we walk in and she looks over and bursts into tears. And if your LO used to do it how did you get them to stop? It breaks my heart because I think it means she's happy to see us, but I don't know what else to do to get it to stop.

Even a minor event in the life of a child is an event of that child's world and thus a world event.

  • LO is happy to see me when I get there. However, if I don't pick her up right away or if I try to set her down to fill out a piece of paper or sign her out she freaks out.  I think she is worried I will leave her and she just wants me to cuddle her. As soon as I walk out the door of her classroom she calms down but it is usually a few minutes of tears.

  • I thought they were hard to understand when they were babies, this toddler stuff is even worse.
