Question - Organic WCM vs Almond Milk

DD loves almond milk, but I usually only have cows milk around. If you've researched, what is better - organic cows milk or almond? DS will be drinking a lot more soon and I keep hearing from friends that he needs the milk fat. I know the fat is important, but he's 90th% for weight, so Im not concerned about him losing weight.

  • We are doing almond. I'm a third grade teacher and have had wayyy too many 8 yr olds on their periods and have done a ton of research saying wcm has too many hormones. Pedi said the fat in almond milk is fine.
  • I mean I don't know for a fact but I have read some interesting articles and have seen too many 7 year olds with boobs so I'm putting her on almond although I would never judge anyone for using wcm.

  • A loves almond milk, so that's what we're going with. I am lactose intolerant and she has already shown signs of having a pretty sensitive stomach.

  • Girls with boobs at 7 and periods at 8! Oh my word, I am definitely NOT ready for that! I dont even know what to say. Sounds like Im going to do almond unless the pedi says no for some strange reason. Thanks!

My eight year old has drank cows milk her entire life and does not have boobs or her period.
We must be some sort of crazy exception to the COWS MILK CURSE.

Really though, if you don't want to give your kid cows milk that's fine - Just use a legit reason. (To clarify, I think a couple of the above reasons are bogus.)

Edited to add: we drink almond milk in our home because it tastes fucking awesome. We also have cows milk. The girl will gladly drink both.

I sincerely hope this was sarcasm, but I sadly don't think it is.

  • I'm not saying that everyone who drinks wcm will get an early period and boobs , that's just ridiculous , however I have done my research and I personally don't like all of the hormones the cows are given which is why we have chosen almond as her primary milk source. I'm not an organic nut nor did I BF , I know she'll drink wcm some point in her life I just am hoping we can avoid some of the current trends.
