Re: City Select Stroller???

  • We have this stroller and LOVE it! Our twins are 2.5 weeks old so we just started using it. But, it has already been great and even works at the pediatrician office.
  • Loading the player...
  • I loved it but didn't want to spend that much. I also didn't like that you have to remove the wheels to fold, thought that would be annoying. We have the city mini and looove it! I just looked at the contour online and it looks like a great competitor to the CS for much less.

  • I have the City Select and mostly love it (you do not have to remove the wheels to fold it).  The thing I don't like is that it virtually impossible to recline both seats at once so both babies can nap at once.  The basket underneath is huge.  It is not super heavy.  It folds easily but does take up a ton of space unless you remove the second seat when you fold it.  The seats pop on and off easily though so it is NBD to remove one.

  • We have it but have only used it with the carseat adapters so far. It is very smooth and easy to push, which is awesome. You have to take the carseat adapters off to fold it, which is annoying, but it's not hard to do. But you definitely don't have to take the wheels off! I don't love it as much as I loved the Uppababy Cruz, but that just wasn't going to do it for us anymore.

  • My bad- not the wheels, it's the seat that comes off. In any case, I wanted something that doesn't require anything coming off to fold.

  • We have it and love it! Our pros and cons are those listed above (although we fold it with one adapter attached and only remove the second one). It doesn't bother me at all to take the adapter/seat off since its so easy. As far as a double stroller goes, we are extremely happy. We use it everywhere we go so we aren't carrying car seats. If we had gone with a side by side, it wouldn't have fit in 75% of those places!

  • We have it and love it! I used a snap and go while they were still in infant car seats and got the BJCS when they outgrew the infant car seats. Taking the seats off and snapping the seats in is quick and simple.  We still use ours with our 2.5 year olds.

  • With the adapters for the car seat I was able to leave them both on to fold it.  I never removed those.  It is only since I started using the regular seats that I remove one.  If I have nothing else in my trunk I can leave them both on and fold it.

  • I have been being ridic about strollers lately and here are my thoughts. I had both the optima and cjcs and I had to take one seat off both. I couldn't get either folded small enough to put in the back of my odyssey (I do have the third row seats in use). Optima had way more space between the babies/leg room and my bjcs is almost to where they don't seem to have enough leg room (14 mos). The optima was enormous! When I went to the grocery store, for example, I would have to stick it waaaay out before I could see around the corner. But definitely easier for things like napping or going to a theme park! I am in the process of selling my bjcs, and already sold the optima, and actually found I do prefer my sbs and super compact to fold combi twin sport for daily errands and the like. And have given up on the idea of a tandem. The bjcs was really nice for things like going to the local aquarium, as it is compact, but at that price is hard to justify as an every now and again stroller.

  • Great to hear this feedback! We registered for the city select hoping for a once and done type purchase...sounds like we're making a good choice ;) yay!
  • I registered for the City Select yesterday.  Obviously, I haven't used it yet, but the Contours Optima was just so much harder to navigate around the store that it was easy to make the final choice.  The BuyBuy Baby guy who helped us told us that you only have to take the second seat off but could leave both carseat adapters on when folding (but I would trust the MoMs on here more!)

D & L are here at 34 weeks 4 days by vaginal and breech delivery on 11/19/2013
Two healthy boys weighing 4 lbs 15 ozs and 4 lbs 5 ozs.  Only 6 days in the NICU and getting bigger, stronger and cuter every day!
  • I have the City Select and love it! It rolls so smoothly and it only takes a second to remove the 2nd sear. I mostly still use the Double Snap and Go since the babies are still in their car seat carriers. The City Select directions say that it's only to be used for babies 6 months and older. Have you also registered for the car seat adapters or a Double Snap and Go?

Definitiely look into it!  The DSNG is so ligthweight and easy to use while you are first getting used to hauling kidlets around and regaining your strength.  Any other double stroller will be heavy.  It's fairly inexpensive in comparison too, so it's not a huge hardship to go with the two choices.

I'm getting the Contours Optima over the BJCS.  I felt like the BJCS was pretty stiff in the handling and I just didn't want to pay that much.  I really like how easy the Contours is to change around.  The Optima also requires the removal of a seat to fold up, but the Contours LT does not (BBB has the LT on display in my neighborhood, but not the Optima).  The Optima has a parent console though, where the LT does not.  The parent console is very important to me, so the Optima it is.

I'm sure either choice will work great :)  Happy shopping!

Ok, you are awesome. I don't know why I wasn't able to get it folded with the one carseat adapter on there before, but you inspired me to try again and it worked! Woo hoo, now getting the stroller out is 50% less of a pain in the ass! ;)

  • Love it. We got the Britax b safe infant seats and adapters. They are amazing and make it act like a snap n' go. My DH even clamed last week that this was his best baby purchase ever. And twins were babies 3 & 4, so we've gone through a lot of gear.

Haha. Glad it worked! We have folded it with the 2nd one on too, but it takes up too much space that way!
