Any idea what this could be? (PIP)

I noticed these little dots all over Cal when I undressed him for his bath this evening, they were not there this morning. They are only on his sides and stomach, the rest of his body is clear, and they don't seem to be causing any discomfort.
He hasn't eaten anything new today, so H and I are at a loss as to what it could be. Anyone ever seen this before?

    flea bites.

    fleas are suuuuper bad this season. indoor animals are getting them and theyre traveling on us.

    No new detergent, and I just did a thorough check of the dog and living room - no fleas. The only other option for fleas would be daycare. I'll be asking them if he did anything unusual today.

    Rylan gets this, in the same spots, when he is teething. Slobber spots is what we call them!!
