Bladder issues?!

Anyone else expierence serious incontinence while pregnant? it seems to be an issue for me at night. Switching sides while sleeping or standing when i have to walk to the bathroom.
I've been checked repeatedly for a UTI and amniotic fluid or any other infection. All were negative.

It's so bizarre. Started maybe about a weeks ago at 29 weeks.

Re: Bladder issues?!

  • I was sent to L&D on Saturday to get tested for a UTI/bladder infection. I had a constant urge to pee/pressure with some cramping and when I tried to pee I could only get a little trickle. But, when I stood up or stepped into the shower I would leak a little. Turned out I don't have an infection and they decided it was a combination of where the baby is sitting and scar tissue from previous csects pressing on my bladder.

  • Thanks @jules122907.
No previous surgeries or babies for me so that's out but maybe I will have them look further into babies positioning on my bladder and pressure on my urethra. I certainly have no control over it sometimes.
  • You will be thrilled to know that this is completely normal during pregnancy. It often gets worse with subsequent pregnancies.

Thankfully, this isn't a pregnancy problem I've dealt with yet (although I've come close while sneezing).

Doing kegels helps. FWIW, the problem may not go away immediately after delivery. But doing kegels even after pregnancy should help.
