Babies on the Brain

Took my last pill today

I took my last BC pill today. As I tossed it back I felt a bit nervous. It's just crazy to think that in a few weeks, I have the possibility of becoming a mom. I have had cycle issues my whole life so the chance is probably even slimmer than normal, but still... There's a chance. It was only a few moments later that I had a moment that confirmed that I am ready for the challenge of children, whenever it may come. One of my cats has the personality of a seven year old tomboy. She loves to tussle and start trouble. She ran up to me and began head-butting my hand. I let her do it a few times, but the third time, she ran face first into my wrist. She pulled her head back and showed visible signs of pain. Immeidately she darted under the table. I sat on the floor to console her and she eventually came out. I checked her face, gave her a kiss and reassured her that she was fine. I felt like a mom handling a real boo-boo, and it all just came naturally. Furbabies sometimes are the ultimate training for real babies! I just had to share.... Thanks for listening.

Re: Took my last pill today

  • Well, I guess if fur babies are training for motherhood. I'll be "Mother of the Year" right here. I just yelled at the dog to STFU because she wouldn't stop barking at the mailman. I also would have probably called my cat a dumbass if it had hurt itself head butting me. GL with going off the pill.

  • So, cats are training for real mother hood, eh?

So does that mean I can leave my son home for a few days with some food and water and a litter box and call it good?

    Awesome!!

Anyway, Good luck on your TTC journey.  :)

  • Obviously they aren't the same thing, I was just merely telling a fun story. I agree with @twinkie0612 that sometimes these cats make me lose my sanity too haha.

Just giving you a hard time :)

I refer to my dog as my first born, even with 2 kids.

  • Our mutt had more issues sleeping through the night when we first adopted him than our DS did.  There are definitely some things fur babies prepare you for!  GL ttc and just remember to have patience.

  • Our fur baby is still referred to as our first born! :)
  • Thanks girls. I'm sure we can all agree we develop a "mom voice" from our pets for sure! I even cherish kitty nap time because that means no trouble is being made in the house for a few hours. Going to the bathroom alone is impossible also. It's like having four non verbal toddlers. I'm not sure if having a LO in the mix is going to be good or bad hahaha.
