I wish...(maternity clothes)

I'm not finding a lot that I LOVE while shopping online for maternity clothes...it doesn't help that I'm super cheap.  I read blogs and stuff on maternity fashion and I really want to look cute most the time, but I'm kind of dreading shopping.

Anyone else wish that they could just give someone money and have them pick out what would work best for YOU?  I think I might just live in this skirt I'm wearing today for the rest of my pregnancy.  (It has an elastic waist and is just really comfy.)

Re: I wish...(maternity clothes)

  • I hate that most of the things that I like are just too expensive to get when I'm only wearing them for a few months....even if I plan to reuse them.

Target stuff is suprisingly cute. And well priced. You just have to look through to find the good ones.

  • I agree.  I'll probably buy a few pieces here and there, use some of my old stuff until I can't anymore, and thrift a lot too.
  • In my experience its almost impossible to shop for cute maternity clothes online. It's much easier to get out there and really try stuff on. I found some cute stuff at Old Navy and Sears last time. This time I'm seeing some worthy stuff at JC Penny.

  • I liked target and I also was able to find some nice stuff at consignment stores & goodwill. I found that a lot of Old Navy's "regular" cloths were a flowy style that I could wear throughout my pregnancy, and after when not feeling so cute in the middle.

maternity tanks and your now cardigans are your best friends.

  • Where I live right now, there isn't any place to shop really.  There is a Walmart and a small JcPenny, but that's about it.  When we move next mall, we will be closer to malls and such and have a lot more options to try things on.

  • The Macy's near me has a maternity section (I guess not all of them do). Your post just made me think of it because Macy's also has free personal shopping services! I'm not sure about the cost of their clothes, but I'm definitely going to try this. I've always hated shopping.
  • I went to Burlington Coat Factory. They had a good and inexpensive selection.

  • Check to see if you have any maternity consignment shops near you. I am also very cheap and have found some great items at consignment shops for real cheap!! Also target, sears and Macy's have good selections.
I just went to sears and every maternity item was buy one get one free!
  • H&M has cute cheap stuff too and you can shop online there now!

  • The Gap has 40% off everything right now, on line only! I just ordered a ton of stuff last night! Enter FALLFIX at check out!
  • Since most of my friends are done having babies, I'm asking for hand me downs:) I'll probably hit the thrift and consignment shops also. I have bought some new, bigger leggings and bras already. I'm more about comfort than style. Looking at blogs is a great idea though! I need to find out how to minimize the boobs;)
  • I would say stock up on boring basics and go nuts with accessories.

motherhood is having a buy two, get one free sale on all of their clearance stuff. They even have sweaters for the fall/winter. I'm going to take advantage of it now even though I'm not anywhere close to needing it yet.

  • Old Navy is relatively cheap, and I liked how it fit last time. I was really stingy in buying maternity stuff, which I now regret, because I need to buy more now, and if I had just bought more the first time around I'd have gotten more use out of it.

I agree with this! Last year target had an extremely comfy long sleeve cowl neck and I bought three in different colors. Also, New York and Company has cute tanks and tops with cinched sides and are long enough that I was able to wear them throughout my pregnancy and they always have amazing deals.

I agree old navy is a good place to look. The store near me carries maternity and it is in the back corner like nobody knows it is there. I found some good deals when Pregnant with my son.

  • I feel like this when I'm not pregnant too. I would love to be on What Not to Wear and have Stacey and Clinton pick what works for me/what is cute and fashionable. Wouldn't it be awesome if they did a pregnancy edition?!

  • I have found a lot of things on ebay for cheap gently used. I don't want to spend a ton on things Im only going to wear while pregnant.

  • I'll most likely use all my old stuff from last pregnancy. I loved Gap maternity. I know it can be expensive but I lived right near one and if you go in often enough you can find great deals on the clearance racks!

I guess I didn't mind splurging since I am carrying a baby for 9months! We deserve it!

  • I'm too cheap to buy nice clothes and my old maternity clothes are way the wrong season. I'm planning on going "shopping" in a friends closet, lol

  • I am going to wait until more "wintery" stuff comes out before I start shopping for anything. I didn't see enough tunic length sweaters yet for my liking.

I'm also going to try to rock non-maternity clothing as long as possible.
