Preemies

Long intro.

I am a FTM. My H and I just got married in February. We were TTC naturally for just over a year. We knew my H had issues with his sperm so we changed diets/meds and nothing worked so we did 2 rounds of AI and I was on 100mg of Clomid. Both were BFNs. We decided to have a wedding instead of invest more in treatments and kind said what will be will be. We got our BFP the same month we got married (feb). Bringing us to current. a few weeks ago I went into PTL because of a newly diagnosed IC 23/2 at 2cm dilated and 40% effaced. It was to late for a cerclage. I had all the meds dor the baby, never had any contractions. I stayed on HBR for 5 weeks and was sent home at 28/1 for SBR. I am now 29/2 and had a scare this morning. Went the bathroom and had not quite a gush of clear liquid but enough that concerned me due to the past few weeks. We took off for L&D. Turns out I am extremely well hydrated and mixed with normal discharge that's all it was. All amnio tests were negative-no leaking, NST was great-no contractions. Baby looks fine. However, bringing me to my point, after today's cervical check I am less dilated at 1cm but I am now 70% effaced. We just remain positive LO will remain put for as long as she can. We have passed some critical milestones and hope we will pass more. My MFM, OB and neo docs have said there is a slim to none chance I will see my EDD. We are praying to make 34 weeks. I've been following this board since I was in the hospital and also post on the HR board alot too.
Hope my explanation/story was clear as I am primarily mobile and its hard to type correctly.
Wishing all the moms and LOs health and happiness!

  • @eamartin1004 thank you. We hope she stays put too

  • @sahara78 how is your DD doing? How old is she? What made you deliver at 29/2?
Sorry if your siggy has it all. Like you mentioned I'm mobile today.
  • @sahara78 we met with the NICU doc and team a few times during the HBR stay. We toured the NICU a few times as well. When I was first admitted they were telling us we were going to have a micro-preemie so we will take anytime we can get.
@bostonkisses2 happy to hear your LO is doing well too. It's very scary thinking at any time it could be time the time.
My doctors have said they can't give an estimate either way. Which I understand. Just causes anxiety.

Welcome to the board!  I'm sorry that you have to live in this limbo where any day could be your baby's birthday.  I hope that your baby keeps cooking as long as possible and that you make it to 34 weeks.  Good luck and keep us posted!

  • Welcome! (from a lurker) I hope baby stays put as long as possible. My DS was born at 30w5d and did very well in the NICU and has had no problems since he left. He is now two years old and perfect! I do not post that much but this board is very supportive and informative. GL to you!
