T&P please for lab results.

Just got lab tests back for 1/250 chance of DS, which is high for my age (under 25). They will call later this afternoon to set up the maternit21 testing. I don't even want to tell DH because he is a worrier, but he's also good about comforting me. The number doesn't really mean anything, everything could still be fine, but I feel so bummed because our first pregnancy with DD was so perfect. Then we had a loss. Then this pregnancy has been ups and downs with worries starting with low progesterone, measuring a week behind what I originally thought, etc. DH's uncle has downs syndrome, it's not hereditary, but we are familiar with that at least, if this is the case. I guess we will at least get to find out the sex sooner than my a/s which is three weeks away. But T&P for a healthy baby would be appreciated!!

Anyone else have a similar experience with lab results??

Sending lots of T&P your way! We opted for the Maternit21 immediately (at 12 weeks), as I have a strong presence of DS on both sides of my family. It was a huge relief for us to get the results back with the sex of our baby, and I am hoping you get good results as well.

I got optional bloodwork done at my last appointment, that yielded these results. I didn't get an NT scan (that I'm aware of.)

What was the results from the AFP blood test? I'm waiting on my results but my T&P are with you!!!!!

You may have seen my previous posts, but we had a 1 in 2 chance of a chromosomal problem after our NT scan, and our LO's chromosomes are 100% normal, down to the microscopic level. Try to remember that probabilities are just that: probabilities, not guaranteed outcomes. I have faith everything will be just fine with your LO!

Thanks everyone! Statistically speaking, it's still like 99.6% chance of a healthy baby I think. But it should be 1/1300 for me, so odds are higher. Hopefully I can get the test soon to ease my mind. DH said everything will be fine, and he's right but I can't help to worry.

@TNgoldengirl, we got the same phone call yesterday and our screen came back as elevated risk too 1/173 (anything over 250 would actually be negative for my age (33). I had no issues with DD and this was never an issue. We are in the process of scheduling a level II u/s unless our insurance will cover the mat21 test. My ob's office is checking on that for me. I'm really pushing for the mat21 since its such a definitive answer vs just changing the odds. GL to you on your test!
