Is anyone elses stomach really itchy? I woke up in the middle of the night scratching so bad. I'm starting to break skin. I put lotion on every day and even tried cortizone. Does anyone have a suggestion?
I've been using Bump Gloss and Tummy butter from The Spoiled Mama. It's a bit pricey but it's been worth every penny! I'll get the occasional itchiness but I think it's more from clothing and skin just needing to breathe. My belly is so soft and I don't have any stretchmarks (I'm 40 weeks and 2 days) and I know stretchmarks run in my family because my mom got them. The product website says to use twice a day but I only use them once after the bath or shower. No itchy belly, no stretchmarks!
I've been using Jergen's Ultra healing ritually everyday as well as Palmer's Cocoa butter Oil? Hold on, I'll get the exact name...Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula-Skin therapy Oil.
Occasionally I'll get itchy and I just add more of one or the other, and usually put the oil on again at night and it generally takes care of the problem for me. I also have no stretch marks yet at 32, almost 33 weeks, but who knows if that is connected.
oh, and bonus, these are not very expensive! Hope you find something that helps!
Don't scratch because you could get a nasty infection with the broken skin. Rub with your palm if you have too. Drink more water, coconut oil is awesome, watch the water temp so that you aren't drying out your skin even more and use a moisturizing soap.

Is that a serious question?

Thanks everyone! I will try a few of these. I actually have a little sample of aquaphor and curel eczema cream that I will try first. I didn't think of these since I was already using a regular lotion.

I have developed a weird rash apparently you only get while pregnant so yep I feel your pain. Benedryl and calamine lotion are the only things that help and even then, it's not great.

I think mine has also turned into a rash instead of just being dry, stretched skin. I'll ask my dr at my appt this week.
I honestly wish I had an answer! One of my baby gifts from a friend was this tummy cream that works wonders! However she made it herself, so I have no clue what all is in it. Ha, I should tell her to start selling it!
I had developed a rash around that same time as well (I'm 38 weeks right now); it got so bad my doctor recommended going to see a dermatologist because the over the counter cortizone cream was not helping. Dermatologist said it was PUPPs which is a rash exclusive to pregnancy; the cream and cool showers/baths with Grampa's Pine Tar Soap has helped me significantly. I also use the Aveeno Eczema lotion. Talk with your doctor or midwife and see what she/he has to say.
You could be getting a rash. I was diagnosed with PUPPP at 37weeks which started on my stomach and spread to my arms and legs. Talk to your doctor and he might recommend something for you.

You are very welcome! I put in about twice as much thought into as you did asking if you are the only 3rd tri pregnant woman with an itchy stomach.

Yes, my lower stomach has just started itching lately. It is super annoying at times but I have found that if I don't give in and itch then it will subside. If I itch then it gets more itchy. Once I start to feel my tummy become itchy then I usually put some Vasoline Aloe lotion on it.

Yes! She needs to start selling it if it really works.
Last night was the worst. I tried coconut oil, hydrocortizone, aquaphor, and aveeno eczema. Nothing was working! Hopefully my doctor can recommend something better tomorrow.
