Re: Book Club Check In

  • The book club is open to anyone.  Pick the book you want to read and tell us about it once you've finished it!    Please check in by leaving the following information:

The number of books read/verses your goal, CR (book you're currently reading; LBR (last book you read)

Feel free to leave a review (good or bad!) and your thoughts on the book(s) you are currently reading.

EnglishMajor03: 9/15  CR: Cleopatra  LBR: Slammerkin

Sorry I missed last week's check in.  I was vacationing.  I made a bit of progress on Cleopatra, which was sort of hard to do with three kids.  Nonetheless I am still very much enjoying this nonfiction.  The author really makes the story come alive.

  • You don't need to add me, I just had to renew my book from the library because I have had no time. But I am determined to make time and I got more into it yesterday. I am reading The Paris Wife by Paula McClain

  • Cherryblossoms07: 3/12 CR: --- LBR: The Cuckoo's Calling.  I really liked The Cuckoo's Calling, but it was a murder mystery which is the genre I love.

  • Kikalynne: 22/75 CR: Celebrity in Death LBR: New York to Dallas, Delirium

I'm still knee deep in JDRobb/ Nora Roberts' In Death series. They're really good and I'm determined to read them all. I also read Lauren Oliver's Delirium. It's YAFic, futuristic, new world order sort of thing. I liked it, but I feel the topic is a bit overdone lately. The idea of love being a disease that needs to be eradicated was an intriguing new twist, though.

  • I can't remember what number book I'm on for my goal.

I just finished the Sookie stackhouse series. (True blood). The series as a whole I did really enjoy. The last one I felt was weaker than the others.

I'm currently reading Safe Haven by Nicolas Sparks.
