Having a bad day :/

I had dinner with a close friend last night and we were discussing all of the issues DH and I have been having TTC and right after I finish crying, she proceeds to tell me her and her boyfriend are 5 weeks pregnant with their 2nd child. She then tells me "it'll happen for you soon!"and "there's always next month!" Cue tears and complete devastation and hopelessness feelings :/

DH (29) & Me (26) - Married 9/22/2012
TTC since 9/2012
Dx - Annovulatory; PCOS-IR

8/2013 - First consult with RE
9/2013 - HSG, SHG both clear; SA normal
Oct 2013 - Jan 2014 - Clomid + Trigger + IUI #1-3 = BFN's
Feb 2014 - Femara + Trigger + IUI #4 = BFP!!!!!
Beta #1 - 3/2/14 (15dpo) - 123
Beta #2 - 3/4/14 (17dpo) - 378
1st ultrasound - 3/21/14 - 1 little ninja, heartbeat - 120bpm
Due November 7, 2014

    Oh my goodness, that sounds heartbreaking! What terrible conversational timing - and the hollow 'reassurance' certainly doesn't help. I'm so sorry!

    *unexplained infertility* 

    Regularly access alternative medicine to supplement a lack of resources in our geographical area.
    • Three rounds of clomid (50mg days 3-7) were useless.
    • IUI#1 w/clomid & HCG in May 2013, BFN.
    • IUI#2 w/clomid & HCG on July 23rd. BFN.
    • IUI #3 in August cancelled last minute, due to lab error.
    • IVF#1 - Started Gonal F stims October 13 2013 for IUI. Over-responded with too many follicles, so converted to IVF. Retrieval October 29th - got 5 eggs, 4 fertilized. Had 2 perfect little embryos transferred on day 3 (Nov. 1). The remaining 2 didn't survive to freeze. Got our BFN on November 13th 2013.
    • IVF#2 - Started stims August 21st. Triggered with Suprefact, started on dostinex due to risk of OHSS. Retrieval September 5th - got 27 eggs! 21 embryos on day 3. Embryos deteriorated quickly. ESet 5day blast on Sept 10. No embryos high enough quality to freeze. BFN came Sept. 22.

    Reserved a semi-known proven donor in August .

    Waiting for consult/screening and protocols with estimated fresh cycle timing in October

    Wow. What an insensitive way to break the news. I am so sorry. :(

    ** After  2 1/2 years of Unexplained IF, 2 failed medicated cycles, and 4 failed IUI's - our baby girl came to us through the miracle of     Mini IVF! **

    September 2012: Start IF testing

    DH (32): SA is ok, slightly low morph, normal SCSA  Me (32): Slightly low progesterone, hostile CM, carrier for CF, Moderately high NKC, High TNFa, heterozyogous mutated Factor XIII, and +APA

    October 2012-May 2014: 4 failed IUIs, 3 failed IVFs, and 1 failed FETw/donor embryos

    November 2014: IVF w/ICSI #4 Agonist/Antagonist with EPP and Prednisone, Baby Aspirin, Lovenox, and IVIG for immune issues.  Converted to freeze all due to lining issues.  2 blasts frozen on day 6!

    January 2015: FET #2 Cancelled due to lining issues

    April 2015: FET #2.1

    I would probably take a little time away from this close "friend". You don't need her insensitivity in your life right now.

    Wow.  There's no more to say other than wow.  How insensitive!  I agree with PP that maybe you should take a break from this so-called "good friend" because she clearly isn't listening when you're talking.  You'd obviously find out eventually, but if she's only 5 weeks there was no reason that she needed to tell you this soon and right after you spilled about your IF issues.  *eye roll*

    Yes, so called "friend" and I are reevaluating our friendship... I understand her excitement... But it could have waited... I didn't even know what to say to her... I barely got a congratulations out before I paid my bill and rushed out.

    I do have to say - even though I hate that we are all here - I love the fact that complete strangers can support one another like you ladies all do... My DH and best friend are the only 2 people who know I was officially dx and I just feel like a burden sometimes crying to them all the time.

    6/13: IVF #1 (1AA blast & 1BB blast) = BFN 
    8/13: FET #1= BFN
    10/13: FET #2= BFP!!!

    I'm so sorry you have had to experience this as well @NariaDreaming. You are very right... It really really sucks. :/

    I'm so sorry. I went through the same thing the day I got my biopsy results that put our treatment on hold for 8 months. Called my BFF, cried my heart out to her, and then went on to tell me that she and her DH were unexpectedly expecting #2 (they weren't planning to start trying until next year). 

    It sucks. It really REALLY sucks.
