Feeling the kick yet?

I'm 16 weeks pego and am wondering when if I will feel the baby kick?!!!!

Re: Feeling the kick yet?

  • It depends on a lot. FTM? Thin or overweight? Placenta position? I felt my baby kick first right around 16 weeks. I believe this was called early as I am a FTM but I am also pretty thin. You may feel it anytime or it may be another few weeks or maybe even more.

  • I'm chubby and I felt it last week (at 15 weeks) and my husband felt it the other day! We're really surprised since I'm a FTM and definitely not "thin" haha. I hear 20 weeks is the norm.
  • Today was the first day I felt something that I think was the baby... felt like a muscle twitches/bubbles, stronger than I expected... and was NOT followed by gas or a bowel movement. I'm 18.5 weeks, FTM, thin, anterior placenta.

  • I'm a FTM and finally at 19 weeks and 5 days I can feel flutters. My placenta isn't in the front either. It's hard waiting but worth the wait!
  • I will be 19 weeks tomorrow. I felt the first movements right at 18 wks, 0 days, but I had to be laying down. Now I can feel movement when sitting up. Just feels like little thumps. I was at the movies today with a friend and DH and the baby started moving like crazy during a Thor preview. Uh oh, lol.

  • I've been feeling small movements for about a week and getting more consistently. I'm 18w5d right now and a thicker girl.

  • I think I just started feeling the baby a few days ago at 18 weeks 2 days. It's like little thumps, but only when I lay on my side. I have an anterior placenta, so may be wrong although its not followed by gas or a bowel movement.

  • I've been feeling the baby since 16 weeks.  And I'm chunky monkey.  Now I feel baby quite frequently throughout the day.  Some FTM don't feel anything until closer to the 20 week mark.  Hang in there .... it's coming!

  • I am 17 weeks and I feel what I think is baby starting last week- just some flutters and a flip here or there, nothing very strong yet. It generally happens after I drink something cold or eat something sweet! Waiting for the 'real deal', hopefully soon!

As a FTM I felt small movements and flutters around 16 weeks and kicks around 18 weeks.
This time as a STM, I felt flutters around 13 weeks and kicks this week at 16 weeks.

Also, I'm small framed. My doctor wrote anterior as the location of my placenta on one of my ultrasounds but has never mentioned it to me.
  • I am 17 weeks 2 days FTM and DH and I were in the car disagreeing on baby names and I felt the movements. It was a rumble like a growling kind of feeling on my right side which is where the baby is. I know I was not hungry because I had just ate a piece of pizza an hour prior. Super EXCITED! We stopped disagreeing and rejoiced in the moment ;)
  • Felt the first definite movements at 16+5. Felt like a muscle twitch almost. At this point I feel LO move daily, though some days stronger than others. My doctor was surprised that I started feeling them so soon and had told me 19-24 weeks is norm for a FTM.

Haha Thor is my husband's middle name. He is mocked endlessly for it. :)

I definitely felt "something" at 17-18 w and now at 20, there is are frequent parties in my uterus that I'm not invited to. I even saw the movement with my own eyes today! But hubby has bad luck with timing as baby is active at night or when he is not around. It's crazy and way cool! It's just like I imagined it would feel. (I am thin to normal size.)

Will find out the gender tomorrow. Aaahhhh!
  • I felt something for the first time at 17w0d, but I think I was just in an optimal position at the time. I haven't felt anything on the last couple of days. It is still early, but it is hard to be patient!

This for me, too. I felt flutters sometime during 15w. I'm small, and I guess everything was just in a 'good' position for feeling movement early on. Outside kicks were felt at 17w.

  • I'm at STM and started to feel DD around 2 weeks ago (mostly flutters) but I've gotten a strong kick or two since then.  DH hasn't been able to feel it yet.

  • I'm a FTM and thin, and I started feeling something a little after 16 weeks.  It feels like muscle twitches and I am now feeling it pretty consistently.

  • FTM and 18 weeks and 2 days, no kicks yet :(
  • I'm a FTM and I felt kicks right when I hit 16 weeks. The dr. said my placenta is towards the back so I would feel it more , and now you can even see him kicking from the outside! .. But also from my anatomy scan he is measuring 2 weeks ahead and has long legs and arms (like my 6 foot 2 fiancé) so maybe that's why also!? But you will feel them soon! Don't worry! :)
  • I'm 19 weeks today & that's exactly what I feel. Like bubbles or a muscle spasm right at the bottom of my bump! It's usually when I lay down at night! Good explanation! Lol

This is me, too-- though I'm not sure I'd call myself thin-- more like stocky athletic build, but either way, it just felt like little muscle spasms at first but now it's definite poking sensation. Dr was surprised on Saturday when I told her I felt baby but she confirmed the placement where I was feeling is right on target to where baby is right now.

  • I started to feel quickening around 16 weeks. Around mid-last week (17w3-4d), I felt twitching in my stomach. I'm 18w2d but haven't had any hardcore kicks yet. I'm a FTM and slightly overweight (I was about 8 lbs overweight when we found out).

  • FTM -- not thin but not large either -- just "normal" I guess...I felt baby move at 18 weeks just after eating breakfast.

It still feel like gas bubbles to me -- and not very consistent...
