FFFC

I'll start this week's because mine happened yesterday and I actually thought to myself, "Oh man, do I have a good one for tomorrow."

Last night we went to the store for a few things and I was already hungry, so I picked up a rotisserie chicken for supper so it was ready to go when supper time came. I was starving when we were done, and I knew by the time we got home and put all the groceries away it would be time for DS' bedtime routine, which would push back eating another 45 minutes. So I may or may not have driven the ten minutes home with the chicken on my lap picking off what I could and eating. I was really hungry....

Re: FFFC

  • We've been getting rotisserie chicken once a week...so good! Not my confession though! :P

After yesterday's nap snafu I decided to wait until DS was clearly tired. I figured part of the problem was me putting him down too early. Well the hours kept passing and though it seemed rogue and risky I went with it. He was happy as a clam and not showing any signs of fatigue. Finally he slowed down a bit and fussed so I put him down. He only cried as long as it took me to leave the room and settled. The confession part? I let him have 4 hours of wake time in between!

  • My confession is that I really want to get rid of our cats. We have 2. I am tired of cleaning up litter from the floor, cat hair, cat puke, and the litter box. DH doesn't like them either, so that's not a problem. There's just a small part of me holding back from putting an ad in the paper for them, and I'm not sure what it is because I don't even really like them. I guess I feel like we are the ones that got these cats, so it's our responsibility to take care of them. Of course, I guess you could also say part of our responsibility is to find them a home where their owners will actually like them.

I should probably POAS bc I've had a couple of phantom symptoms, but I won't, bc tomorrow is DH's 30th bday and if it were (by some strange occurrence) a BFP he would freak out.

I was 5 days late and going to pick up a test today... when AF showed up.  I have to admit, I'm super disappointed!

I have had 3 regular periods since having DS, and now I haven't had one in over 60 days. I go to the obgyn on Monday, and I really hope he has some good news for me. :)
  • I really wish there was a device that poked your kid every few minutes in the car. Both of them fell asleep around lunch time, so when we got home. Dd was a grouch and refused lunch, and now both of the are fighting their afternoon nap. This happens all the time.
  • We have 5 strollers. It's crazy. We are selling all but 2 very soon, but its nuts that we have that many.

The car nap is a total jerk.
Yep. If it's close to nap time, I try to engage DD1 in a "conversation" by asking her questions to try to keep her awake. DD2 is hopeless, though. Sigh.

This has been us all week, except because we've been having Choreography Camp for cheer, which means three-hour practices each day.  DS has been so crabby at night and I feel terrible that he's had to put up with my schedule that has clearly exhausted him.  But...DH started his sabbatical today and will be off for six whole weeks, which means six weeks of daddy duty!  :-)

Nope, I'm with you, and I'll make it even worse, lol. When I go back to work in a few days DS will spend three days a week with DH and two days at DC. I am legit a little worried that DS might start to "like" DH more than me. It's really been just he and I most of his life bc of DH's work/school schedule. The idea that I might get "replaced' just when attachment starts to really form is breaking my heart a little. Pull yourself together, Shannon.

I have one husky, my parents have nine, four inside, five out. I totally get the shedding. I swear i vacuum a whole dog every day or else the baby wears it like a fur coat.

  • Here comes a triple threat....

My confession is I want another baby! LOL! I know it's not time but I think about it a lot. I know we won't be trying til DD is close to 2. But I think what if I was back on the pill and just forget to take it. Bah I know that's awful, I would never. Confession #2 I babysat for my friend 2 days in a row(she's 2) and it made me anxious...like I couldn't wait til she was picked up and gone. She was pretty easy to deal with too. I guess I just like my own child! Confession # 3 It makes me soo happy when DD won't go to anyone but me(or DH). I secretly do a happy dance in my head and say "haha nanana poo poo she loves me not you!"  I was ecstatic when she wouldn't go to my MIL at all the other day.

We have two cats. One of them is some kind of circus freak and every now and again will poop outside the box, then try to dig and bury it like it is in the box. I hate waking up to find cat %^$@$ on the floor. But as fate would have it, I couldn't do the box when I was KU, so DH took it over, and for some reason, has continued to habitually do it, and clean up the rogue poo.

You are a lucky woman. Picking kitty poo up off the floor blows.

  • You know the other totally gross animal behavior? My cat puking and my dog eating it before I'm able to clean it up.
Silver lining: less puke for me to clean up then :) But still totally disgusting.

  • @Riversong82 I am lucky. I do usually end up with the puke duty. The same wildebeest that poops on the floor also will hang out in our cellar for awhile, then come up and eat cat food like he's been deprived for a week. This ultimately lends itself to him upchucking somewhere ten minuets later. It's like the worst symphony ever when he pukes, then DS does an encore performance a few minutes later.

  • I haven't cleaned the litter box since I got pregnant.... with my first. So it's been over 6.5 years. Ironic since I was the one that wanted the cats to begin with. DH took over when I couldn't because I was pregnant, then I "couldn't because I was nursing" (thankfully he didn't ask the OB or ped to confirm that...) and the cycle continued. I'm pretty sure he realizes I'm never doing litter box duty again...

I POAS this morning bc I had a dream last night that I took 2 pregnancy tests and both were positive. I had to check. Lol- BFN by the way.

Ooohhh.. I wish I had thought of this!!!  I hate the cat box.  Hate it.  And I'm with all of you who want to get rid of your cat(s).  I tell DH that between both boys (with the oldest still not poop potty trained) and the cat, I feel like all I do is move poop from one place to the other.

I hate it when people tell me they could never be a SAHM because they don't want their brains to turn to mush (or some nicer varation but I heard the mush one word for word more than once). A little common sense says that you don't put down someones job right to their face. Plus way to make me feel like you think i must have a mushy brain!
This just tells me that some people have no self-initiative.  Besides the fact that my brain feels the most challenged it has ever been (you find 20 different ways to entertain an infant), there are all kinds of online classes, books, instructional videos (hello YouTube), crafts, etc one can do if one feels his/her brain needs a bit more stimulation.

  • FF(S?)C- I have two of them this week:

    1. I think most posed wedding photos are really cheesy. Posed photos in general, I guess...but there is something really awkward to me about wedding photos. I cringe seeing some people's photos of the wedding party. Like, in real life, people aren't jumping up and down cheering in formal wear, so why do we insist on making people pretend to do it for a picture?

    2. This is really flameworthy- There is this person that I know from high school who had her baby a few weeks before mine. We weren't ever super tight friends, but she friended me on facebook and I wasn't going to decline. Anyway, she used to be obsessed with posting pictures of her (not cute) baby. I frequently "liked" them because our babies are close to the same age and I know what it's like to be excited about your new baby. I ended up stopping because she has never "liked" a picture of my baby who by the way is *way* cuter and I don't post pictures incessantly.

I agree- this is super rude. I could never be a SAHM- but not because I think I'm "too intelligent" for it. More like, I have no idea how you all do it because it's so hard!!! For me, going to work and having my son in daycare 50 hours a week is taking the easy way...

Hm.  I feel like my brain is more stimulated as a SAHM than it was as a teacher bc I occasionally have time to read something that isn't classroom-related.  While I'm nursing, I can read the news!!  Or, you know, a BOOK!  And not a book about classroom management or math investigations, a legitimate work of literature!  When I was teaching full time, I didn't have time for that stuff.
I agree completely DC! The university I was working for just cut their TA program so now I'm a full SAHM with two.  I honestly feel like I am more stimulated, and sometimes its just from reading silly kids books, lol! I've always tried to read to my daughter at bedtime but after 3+ years of full-time homework and work, many nights I just didn't have the energy.
