4moms origami: anyone else out there?

We finally got our 4moms origami stroller and love it!!! We are just super bummed that the bassinet portion won't be coming out for another 2-3 months. So I'm facing a debate to buy a chicco caddy for the carseat or just we stroller-less for 2-3 months. Anyone else waiting for this bassinet?

  • One of the reasons I crossed the origami off my list early was that the only carseat adaptor they had was graco, and I knew I wanted a maxi cosi. 4Moms - please fix this!

I would get a snap n go - they are cheap (and you can get it even cheaper on craigslist). You'll want to be able to bring baby around without having to lug that heavy carseat!

  • I'm not a big advocate of toting kids around in car seats as their only possible mode of transportation when not in the car. With that said, I don't see the Origami as a great choice for an infant. At this time there's no bassinet and a child under 6 months really cannot sit in the seat because it is so upright. The seat really doesn't recline. I think it has like a zipper or clip on the back so it reclines an inch. That isn't going to work for a baby, toddler or kid who naps in their stroller. It's basically saying you need to sleep sitting up kid which is sort of not fair to the child. The other thing is that is closes on its own but then it is on the ground. That just means we'd have to bend down all the way to the ground to then pick up a stroller to put it into the car which is heavier than most other single strollers out there. So it is just eliminating the need to physically close it, but everything else is actually harder about it. I think the stroller is a great novelty. It's like an awesome party trick that gets lots of attention, but it lacks in the area of convenience for the parent and comfort for the child. It also holds nothing in the bag. I know you said you love it, but I think you are limited on what you can do with it and I honestly believe you would be so much happier with so many other strollers. If the Origami is a good price range for you, the other better options are tremendous!
