Anyone have any suggestions of brands or styles they like? Need to start looking. Does anyone leave their bag with their childcare so it has everything they will need for the day... ??
I've had this one in black for years and absolutely love it. I didn't ever really like the diaper bags we had with DS and plan on using this instead this time. It's not meant to be a diaper bag as it's a carry on tote, but isn't every diaper bag meant for traveling with your lil one? It'll hold 4 bottles of your choosing (or whatever you want to use those pockets for), Big main compartment, 2 smaller compartments that'll fit your wallet with organizers for pens, change, etc. and a bunch of smaller pockets for pacifiers, snacks, diaper stuff etc.. The best part for me is that it doesn't kill my shoulder. If the link doesn't work, it's the Ellington In Flight tote.
I have a coach diaper bag. It's a great size and has everything I need. Plus, I used to work for the company on the retail end. I got one that is coated canvas, so it's easy to wipe down.
I've also registered for a petunia pickle bottom weekender bag. It's an little bigger then an everyday diaper bag,we go away on weekend a lot. I've heard nothing but great things about them. And I really like the size. This comes in coated canvas or a fabric.
It may seems small to others. But, I am a minimalist. I watched some YouTube reviews before ordering, and most reviews say it will carry the basics. I also did not want a large diaper bag to carry /leave at daycare.
When I was working, I bought a cheap diaper bag that was on sale from BRU and would use it for when DS1 went to daycare. I had a nicer bag that DH and I would use when we were out and about.
This is a total FTM question, but why do you have to leave your diaper bag at daycare? Can't you leave a box of diapers and couple of changes of clothes at daycare and not have to leave your whole bag? I guess you'd be toting bottles back and forth too.
The whole logistics of having a baby gets me verclemped sometimes.
I used a different bag for daycare then what I carried with me. I used one someone gave me at my shower that I did not register for as the daycare bag. I first had a graco one that matched my stroller but it was canvas which was heavy even without stuff in it and inside was plastic which ripped easily. I switched to a Vera Bradley even though I wasn't a huge pattern person because the bag was light and had great storage and I then had a newborn and one potty training so I was carrying a lot of stuff. The Vera Bradley held up well and I plan to use it again.
You don't have to leave your bag at daycare. But, several parents do, for example if Mom drops off and Dad picks up they have the diaper bag waiting there for them. At our center we provide tubs for each child, that way they can leave extra clothes or whatever else their child needs that day. So, its not necessary to leave the entire bag... depending on the center.

Depends on the center. This is how we do it. The kids have little cubbies and their clothes, extra diapers and extra wipes go in there.
I also got a petunia pickle bottom, sounds like the same one from the post above. It was pricey but every mom I know who has one swears by it and I figure it will basically be my purse for the next few years so was worth the splurge.

I inherited a PPB as well. The style is not exactly me, but I will be using it anyway as a backup/daycare bag/going to Mimi's house bag. I have a cute timi and Leslie bag on my registry that will double as my handbag :-)
I'm leaning towards the Ju Ju Be BFF. I also really like the Timi and Leslie Dawn. My main requirement is that it can be worn as a crossbody/messenger style bag. So I didn't want just a backpack or one with only a shoulder strap (like the Kate Spade Stevie).

I have a 31 Retro Metro tote that I use now w DD1. It's roomy enough for my stuff and her stuff and it has pockets on the side for a sippy or a bottle. and I like that I can throw the whole thing in the wash if I spill milk in it.
I'm not hauling around a changing pad this time around. I'll just throw a couple of the disposable changing pad liners in my bag.
I registered for a Columbia diaper bag (shoulder or back pack ability to wear it) for the hubby and registered for a JJ Cole bag for myself. The plus is both had thermal areas to hold bottles that kept them cold/warm, and it had nice pockets and came with diaper changing pads and both were pretty light weight, seem durable, and are easy to clean!
I LOVE my Vera Bradley bag! It held up so well with my first DS and was super easy to wash with lots of storage. I actually plan on reusing the same bag again for DS#2. After washing it, it looks brand new and i loved it so much i don't see a reason with getting a new one.
I ordered a Petunia Pickle Bottom from Amazon and I love it because it's fashionable and functional (though, a little smaller than most diaper bags, I feel like). Then again I feel like if I have a giant diaper bag, I will end up filling it with stuff I don't need. The smaller size will help keep me organized.
My Vera Bradley bags are my favorite diaper bags. I use a backpack one for quick outings and the Weekender one for overnight/all day trips. I have a cheap JJ Cole one that I use to lug items back and forth to daycare (I leave most things there, but we CD so I need to replace diapers daily).
It's simple, I'm not a pattern or name-brand person, and I figure DH won't mind carrying it either. It seems very durable, and even my friend with 2 said she could fit everything she needed in there.
I just bought a Timi & Leslie "Annette" bag. It's well with the price ~$140 on Amazon. It has to a of pockets and looks like a really cute regular handbag. It has a bottle insulator, stroller straps and to a of pockets... Even a cute clutch inside for.
I LOVE my Kate Spade diaper bag I got for DS. I'm looking into getting another one this time around. They are roomy and I love how they attached to the stroller. Plus most of them can double as a purse :-)
This is the one DH got for us.Its Coach. It was from the outlet store and it was on sale on top of being on clearance!! I love it, it is very roomy, has lots of pockets and a changing pad.
I have a PPB (the boxy one) and hated it! I bought it 3 years ago at the Nordstrom's half yearly I personally thought the changing pad attached to the bag was gross after i started using it. it is attached to the bag and you have to put it on dirty changing tables, so not only is the pad getting dirty but your bag is too. I ended up getting a Pattem circular pad and still use it for my 2 yr old. I now this is not part of your question, but its hands down the best changing pad and easy to clean. the PPB bag was too hard to keep organized and I felt like I was taking everything out of the bag each time I need to find something. After searching high and low I ended up buying a Lululemon gym bag and I love it!!! It's gorgeous, the hardware is nice, it's easy to clean and super durable. I can carry bottles on the sides and it has tons of compartments to easily find anything I need. It has a slot for my keys and cell so they are never lost. There is a compartment at is supposed to be used for a laptop, but i store my Pattem changing pad so no nasty germs don't get on the rest of the bag dirty and its easy to clean. I can't say enough about it. I looked at all kinds of bags and the designs were ugly, lacked organization or both.
I absolutely love - it's huge, can fit everything I need in it, AND it fits in the bottom of my stroller I registered for. WIN! (Yes I was that woman that brought my diaper bag to make sure it fits in my stroller!!!)

I have two diaper bags. One will be coming with me to work and will contain my pump and spare stuff I might need during the day (it'll replace my purse). One will be the daycare bag.

With that, I have a coach bag and a PPB boxy back pack. Love both of them!

And I bought this one, it's an Isabel Grayson. I love it because it has a cooler built in!

Anyone have similar suggestions (I believe there is a Carters knock off, but not a fan of the color)
I looked at Kate Spade bags too, until the sales girls ticked me off by being completely snotty and very unhelpful.
