Shoes for my 3 year old.

Buying shoes for DS is a pain in the butt.

He is doing zoo school and YMCA soccer starting next month and needs new tennis shoes. The problem is he has crazy big wide club feet. I was thinking maybe van type shoes for zoo school, but since he is 3 he does not need cleats for soccer so I thought we would just buy one pair for both. He was OBSESSED with his red cowboy boots and just outgrew them...he is not happy

I may have to buy him another pair this week just because he is sad every time I put his sandles on him. He only wants to wear those boots!

So what tennis shoes are versatile enough for zoo school and soccer, good for wide feet, comfortable, and cute/cool enough that he will not fight me on wearing them instead of his boots.

I don't remember the brand, but there are skater looking shoes that are made really wide.

My wide-footer gets shoes at stride rite. He recently got light up ones that he won't take off. He's also worn DCs and liked those too.

Do you think chuck taylors would work for soccer? I have some and so does my mom and DS is always pointing them out!

I know nothing about soccer but for a 3 year old I would think any sneaker will do

LOL I know nothing about soccer ether. We are not sports people so this is all new to me But we thought it would be fun for DS and his cousin to do together. I figure they will just be running around like mad men in a uniform this year so I was kind of thinking the same thing about any sneaker working.

That's exactly what I'm picturing. If he turns out to be the next david beckham, then you invest in the cleats lol

My kids get chuck taylors. There's an outlet near us so when they need sneakers we go in there and they can choose any ones they want. Julia used those for soccer last year without a problem. We went shopping yesterday for this school year's shoes and both got pink sparkly chucks. I love that those are reasonably cute with skirts and dresses unlike most little kid sneakers!

We do stride rite for sneakers---my daughter her as a wide foot too. I actually do stride rite for shoes that she wears daily. Things that don't get worn as much--(dress shoes, flip flops, water shoes) I just go to Walmart or Target.

He won't need clets for 3yr old soccer, any sneaker would work. DS has wide chunky feet and he uses either Adidas skater-like models or W models from Nike and Puma, his favorite is this pair of Pumas that light up (only that his are black with green inside and "cloud")
