First appointment Wednesday!!

My husband and I have our first appointment with our RE Wednesday. We already saw his urologist and were told that the only way we can conceive is IVF. He had only 42 in his count and only 15 of those were active. We are just excited it is still a possibility to have children together! Is there anything specific we should ask about? Any help would be very appreciated, we are still new to all of this.


TTC #1 since June 2013

Me: 24
DH: 26 Very Low Count (only 15 active), Low Testosterone

IVF with ICSI in October
ER - 10-6-13  12 eggs retrieved, 7 fertilized
ET  - 10-11-13
BFP - 10-23-2013
Beta #1 (14dp5dt)- 1122

    Welcome. There is a male factor infertility check-in on this board. Watch for it. There will be many people there who can relate to your situation. You will find a lot of valuable info here. Good luck on your journey.

    Just make sure your comfortable with your RE. DH and I spent a year with a lady that literally made me cry after every appointment and that was just doing all the testing. We were new and didn't know where to go until I finally had it and found an amazing RE in another state that is worth the drive. I know sometimes we want things so bad that we go with the flow but take the time to find the right dr it can make a huge difference. GL and I hope it goes great with you!

    Welcome to the board! I would ask if there is any blockage. If there isn't, then maybe Clomid and antioxidants. Good luck to you :)

    DX: MFI-Very Low Count, I have Hashimotos.
    IVF prep September 2013 cancelled due to Ovarian Cyst
    IVF #1 October 2013 Antagonistic Protocol with ICSI  ER 10/31/13 (18R 16M 11F- 6 blasts to freeze)
    ET delayed due to OHSS 
    FET scheduled for July 8. Delayed due to a crazy high TSH (it had been under control for YEARS!)
    FET #1 8/5/14 sET BFN

    Welcome and good luck! Make sure you both get checked out fully. You don't want to waste cycles thinking the only issue is male factor and not have a good look at what may be going on with you. Also, ask your RE questions if you don't understand. While this is a great resource, we all get different details from our RE so when you ask here, you may get 10 different answers.
