Stay at Home Moms

DD is always apologizing

When she would do something wrong, I explained to her that we don't "blank". And she would always respond, ok mommy. And I would tell her to say I'm sorry. Well now, my kid must have the best manners in the universe. Everything she says is ok mommy, thank you mommy, I'm sorry mommy. She just apologized for farting!! She's 2!! Haha. I told DH people in public are going to think we are mistreating her at home because she is constantly apologizing for everything. I'm loving her manners though :). But she doesn't need to apologize for everything..

  • My daughter does this as well. I bumped the shopping cart and she goes "sorry mommy."

  • I posted something about DS apologizing at inappropriate times and was told he might be Canadian. Lol
    Or Catholic!
  • Dd1 went through a phase like that too. She still does it a lot, but not constantly.

  • My son does it all the time, too.  Even when I'm not in the same room sometimes.  He'll be playing with a toy and not do something right and say "oh sorry mommy, i so sorry mommy" or DH will say "time for dinner buddy, come to the table" and he'll say "oh, i almost forgot, i so sorry."  My mom said he just doesn't understand yet exactly what "i'm sorry" is meant to encompass and what it's not.
