We are flying United. With three kids. With a less than an hour layover both ways. Oh Lord, help me!
I want to bring both Emerys car seat and the stroller and gate check them. It's a collapseable sit and stand type stroller, not a super compact umbrella. I'm looking on the website and it says you can check either/or without baggage fees in addition to the baggage allowance.
Is there anyone who has flown with a gate checked car seat AND a stroller? I'm trying to prepare myself for having to check the stroller before we get to the gate, which is fine, I just want to be clear in what to expect. I'm just confused on what is allowed, since there are 5 of us flying, all of us have one carryon, no checked baggage, and H might bring a backpack also. '
HALP!
Re: Moms who have flown- HELP!!
@shakinros, thank you! That's kind of what I figured, and was hoping. Another question: We have a connecting flight- will the items we gate check be waiting for us as we get off the first plane and head towards our next plane? Or will they transfer them and we pick them up at our final destination?
@scout2005, thank you! I plan on asking if there in an extra seat available for the car seat but we didn't buy him one. Did you put your kids FF or RF on the plane?
Also, we are bringing the kids backless boosters and gate checking them as well. We are renting a car while there and the car seats are 60+ each to rent! So we are bringing our own. I wish we could bring them on the plane but I see on the United website we have to check boosters.
We are going to be a parade of insanity.
Everyone is going to hate us.
If you guys look really pathetic, you get to line jump. I always do since I'm alone with a baby.
The carry on is a backpack and a small suitcase each except E since he doesn't have a seat. The ergo is my secret to success. Also nursing on takeoff and landing. GL. It's much easier than you think it will be.
Safe travels! GL!
@island_Breezie, we leave Tuesday super early so that wouldn't work, but so sweet of you to offer! I'll check the stores, thank you.
