  We started napping in the crib since she is trying to sit up in the swing, plus now that she is soooo much more aware it's too busy in he living room for her to chill out. Usually follow the yawn or the bubbling of yes, go put her in her sleep sack, turn noise on and rock he for a bit... Usually naps she fights me but it only takes about 5 mins and she is out... She naps much better in her crib, plus we don't have to tip toe around

  It's been a bit of a challenge getting LO to nap in her crib since the time she's been sleeping there at night, but with repetition and some help, she's been able to nap there. She has never liked napping where she sleeps. Often one nap a day, I let her sleep on our bed since she falls asleep easier and stays asleep longer on our bed. Lately she gets very fussy and cranky before falling asleep, no matter where I lay her. When she shows signs of tiredness, I lay her down, turn on white noise, give her the paci and her little animal blanket. Sometimes I put her Fisher Price Seahorse on next to her. I don't use the blanket or seahorse for nighttime sleep, she doesn't need them. Then I close the door and leave. If she fusses for a while, I'll go back in, give her the paci again, caress her a little. I feel like the fussing tires her out. Sometimes she likes when I stand next to the crib, sometimes not. I just have to play it by ear. Eventually she'll fall asleep. I'm not constantly there by her side or rocking her until she falls asleep because I want her to go to sleep on her own, and eventually she always does. I just help her out when I feel she really needs it. I think the longest she'll nap in the crib is about 45 minutes. On our bed she'll go as long as 2 hours. Probably when she turns 6 months I'll lay her down for all her naps in the crib.

  Emma didn't nap well at all in her crib when I first started transitioning her to naps there. They would last 15 minutes tops and then she would start fussing. She has gotten used to it now though and usually does an hour or so nap there in the morning and then 2.5-3 hours in the afternoon. She still sleeps at night in her PNP in our room since the rooms are on different levels of our house, but I'm hoping that the transition to sleeping in her crib at night will be easier due to napping in there now.

  i started LO in the crib around 3 weeks. i watch the clock and him and generally put him down for his nap after 1.5 hours of awake time. i've been trying to stretch him another 15 min the past few days, but i have to be careful to get him in before he starts fussing. i read him a short poem and sing rock a bye baby, then put him in the crib, turn on glowworm, and leave. it's about 75/25 that he falls asleep right away, and the 25% i go back in and pick him up, hold him and rock a little in the glider, then put him back in crib. he naps anywhere from 1-3 hours. he will make little noises/fuss sometimes when i put him in, but i only go back in if it gets close to crying. i also don't go in and get him right away when he starts moving around b/c he often goes right back to sleep.

  
  

  my older son we started naps in the crib later at around 4/5 months (he was a swing baby but outgrew it), did a little nap training b/c he wailed every time i put him in the crib but would fall asleep with me holding him, and he napped 45 min every.single.nap. until he went to 1 nap at 13.5 months.
