Talking regression

Hey Everybody!

My son is 10 months old and at 9 months, he had "mama" and "dada" down with a "hi" tossed in there sometimes. Now it has stopped completely. He still babbles but there aren't any words. I read to him and talk to him but the last 3 weeks, I haven't heard a word. Is this normal? Should I be worried if this is a sign of future problems? I am pretty laid back about things and was just hoping this would work itself out but if there's any suggestions, let me know! I would appreciate it!!! Thanks.

    Is she working on a different skill right now?  Perhaps starting to walk?  Sometimes when they start concentrating on something new, they kind of drop the other things they were working on.  I know at around 6 months DS was saying, 'ma,ma,ma' totally without meaning, but nice to hear.  Since he started concentrating on crawling he has been 'talking' less.

    I realized today that DD2 hasn't babbled mama, hi or night night (she was good at repeating sounds she heard, she wasn't actually using the words) in a few weeks. But she is physically moving a lot and picking up on "tricks" we teach her like "so big." I'm not worried and assume its normal. By about a year DD1 was using the 5-6 words she knew consistently and in context, so they have time (and even that is super early). I'm sure LO is just learning something else at the moment.
