Kid #2 - maybe???
Diagnosed with Severe Ashermans

Re: Weird things your kid does

  • In the mornings I bring L into bed to nurse. Her new favorite way to nurse, laying on my face and nursing from above the boob. I try to move her off my face or side lay, anything else, and she just yells and gets mad. DH just laughs at us. Crazy cakes kid.

  • They hit their heads on things. Everything. They like the sounds it makes. So strange. Like if they accidentally lightly tap the wall with their head they go back and keep hitting it. If they see their sister do it they crawl up and do it too.

  • L is over the hitting her head on things - thank goodness - she whacked herself pretty hard as few weeks ago.

OMG, growling - that is hysterical!

Emilia does this, too. Especially when she's tired. She sits with her back to the wall and whacks her head repeatedly. It reminds me of the little boy in Parenthood with the bucket on his head (the original Steve Martin movie, not the TV show).

He still does the motorcycle hands that he has been doing since like 5 months. And he still sounds like a zombie.

Not odd in general but odd for him, he is starting to get shy towards strangers.

  • DD has always thought of her feet as a second pair of hands.  She'll roll onto her back and hold heavy things in her feet, so she can use her hands to push buttons, or play with the toy.  She tries to turn pages with her feet.  She army crawls and pushes off with her toes.

She also growls, but only when she hugs... I think she got it from her daddy, who makes a grrr sound when he bear-hugs her.  In the stroller she likes to hang onto the tray and pull herself forward so she can watch the ground move underneath her.

She says "aaaah" and then uses her arm to block the sound so it turns into "ahbahbahbah" and she also has figured out how to flick her lips while she's making noise to get a wobble sound.  Hard to describe.

When she's done eating, she starts to throw all the food overboard off her high chair.  She still wipes her hands on her hair.  She's obsessive about making sure she doesn't have a bow in her hair, and even after she takes one out, she'll periodically check to make sure I didn't sneak another bow in there when she wasn't looking.
  • Every night after his bath when I lay him on his changing pad to put his PJ's on he yells out "bob!" I have no idea what he's really trying to say but whatever it is, he thinks he's hilarious.

Too funny! L just started to try and pull all bows off her head. But once she pulls it once, she is good to go and leaves it be for the rest of the day. Thank goodness or DH would kill me at the bows I have bought!

  • She crawls into the laundry basket all day. She always gets stuck, her head will be smashed into the laundry at the bottom of the basket and her legs will be up in the air, and she'll just sit there like that until I lift her out.

  • she dances every morning when i turn on music. but as soon as i join in, she stops, gets really serious and judges the hell out of me.

she tries to 'put on' hats and blankets as hats when they're laying around. but god help you if you actually try to get her to wear a hat.

  • She makes this funky scrunched up face and snuffles at us through her nose with her lip curled up. It's SO WEIRD and absolutely hilarious.

She crawls on her hands and toes to move faster, mostly when one of us gets home after having been away from her.

She blows raspberries ON my boob.

  • Ripping my hair out. Apparently it's soothing to him. When he's falling asleep he gets handfuls of my hair and pulls furiously. I've tried everything to get him to stop. Nothing works. Any advice ladies?

Here's a picture of the damage. I blacked out my face because I look like hell.

  • She goes up to our choc. lab and says something in baby talk like she's really has something to say and then she tries to hand whatever she's holding in her hand to the dog but then quick takes it away before the dog can even smell it. repeat about 5 x then she giggles and hugs her. It's adorable but my poor dog hahaha.

  • We have a dinosaur growl too.

He unscrews knobs- like the kind on drawers.

He also likes to carry a tool in each hand and one in his mouth. It's always tool time at our house. haha.

  • She does this thing where she wrinkles her nose, opens her mouth and breathes in and out really fast. DH taught her that one...why, I'm not sure but it's cute as hell (when she does it).  She's obsessed with kitties, so she calls everything and everyone she sees "kitty".  She gives kisses on command, but they're more like wide open mouthed licks.  I still ask for kisses anyway :)

I don't know but my kid does this too, mostly while nursing. Or she'll grab my nose or face and squeeze. It's really endearing. /sarcasm

She also does this hilarious little bop with her body, like puffs her chest in and out. She does it when she's strapped into the high chair, the car seat, or being held. Most people think she's choking. She's not. Just doing the Penny dance.

She also sighs a lot. With this little "boh" sound. It's DH's favorite thing.

  • All I can think of is how she will literally drink every drip of her bottle.  Then, when she knows it gone, she goes back a few more times just to make sure.

  • ^ Lil does the nose scrunching and pursed lips, and then she'll go "noooo noooo noooo!" she reminds me of the Snorks.

Also, short bursts of screeching. It's not cute anymore though. She's totally doing it to get a rise out of me. Then she laughs when I tell her no. Little shit ;)
