Being a mom is amazing but I could definitely do without getting sick so often. Cecilia gets congested but is otherwise normal and then all of a sudden we feel like we can't get out of bed.
Yep, that's exactly what happened with us. I'm told that we get it over with now and by the time they are in school they rarely get sick. That is what I keep telling myself.
I've actually found I've been healthier since having Killian. Even with not sleeping as much as before, I feel like I take much better care of myself overall but especially preventative. Of course I've taken more 'sick-time' from work when I first came back as we were trying to figure out the day-care thing and then this last week because our nanny has been sick but we're a pretty healthy family as it is. I think both DH and I must have eaten a fair amount of dirt in our day or something. We also don't freak when LO gets a hold of the dog-chew-toy or stuff like that.
Having a nanny probably helps. Now that they are mobile at daycare I think things spread easier. We don't freak out about most things but the dog toys still gross me out. I'm not sure we have ever washed the dog toys.
One of the other rooms at daycare has had two cases of chicken pox this week. I'm somewhere between, "For the love of all things holy, no!!!" and "Well, we'd get it over with..."
I haven't been sick once, thank goodness. Camila has gotten sick once with a cold and it was pitiful. DH is sick now with the crud and I'm really hoping he doesn't pass it on to us especially since we will be on vacation next week. DH stays home during the day and the only place he takes Camila is the gym daycare for an hour. Other than that, she's with me, my parents or once in a while our babysitter.

Lol, I don't think we've ever washed our dog toys either! I'm a very laid back mom. I keep telling myself that I'm helping her build a healthy immune system!
It seems as though I get sick more often the first year after having my LO's. I think it may have to being sleep deprived and BF'ing that my body has a hard time fighting it off and I get sick more often. Hope you all feel better soon!
