  The u/s will be an internal,similar to her baseline u/s and the shot doesn't hurt a bit! It is a very small needle so it is barely noticeable. It will be a few inches above or to the side of the belly button..hope that helped!

  I never took clomid, but I was on Femara and did a trigger shot for two of our IUIs.

  Are you going to be giving her the shot? My wife gave me the shot both times. She was very nervous to do it, but the Ovidrel needle is tiny and it was barely even a pinch. I had no negative experiences with the trigger shot either time. Unfortunately, we didn't get pregnant, but that isn't the shot's fault! HA! At any rate, good luck!!!

  My wife gave me the shot too. I think she was more nervous than I was. She's a weenie when it comes to needles. The needle is teeny tiny and it doesn't hurt. If you will be giving the shot, one of the doctors or nurses can give you tips. Good luck!

  First off, glad to see another boi running around here! Secondly, the trigger didn't bother me at all. I had it administered at the Dr's. in my upper butt cheek ( they said hip, but don't be fooled!). The ultrasound was super quick.... And unpainful... And no more uncomfortable than anything that involves a stranger sticking a small instrument up your hoo-ha.

  Yeah - don't worry at all about the trigger shot the needle for that is super tiny and I can barely feel it when it goes in.  H is the one to give it to me.
  
  We've done both the Ovidrel trigger (preloaded needed) and the one where you mix the powdered HCG in with the solution.   Both were totally manageable and no big deal.
  
  I'm also on clomid this cycle (just starting it tonight...)   I didn't have too many side effects my first round on it, hoping this will be the same.

  Thank you for all of your advice.  I am usually the one on here, I love that my DW posted and is getting involved.  

  We sat down and signed the final agreement with our KD last night, and worked out scheduling for two inseminations this weekend.  We are super excited and nervous.

  Oh and on a side note, I didn't experience any severe symptoms from the Clomid.  I have been pretty whinny though and if I want something I just tell my DW that I am growing follicles and building a lining in my uterus.  It has worked every time, haha.

  Just an update for you ladies.  I have follicles!!!!  The RE might have told me the size, but I wasn't paying attention after she told me I had 2 big ones and one smaller one.  I got the trigger shot which hardly hurt at all, my DW gave it to me with the nurses instructions.  We are doing at home insemination tomorrow and Sunday.  We are so excited!!!!

  • DW and I have been tracking, preparing, getting medical testing since January 2013.
  • First Cycle: Unmedicated ICI w/ Donor Sperm 08/02/13: BFN
    
  • Second Cycle: Unmedicated ICI w/ Donor Sperm 09/11/13, 09/13/13, 09/15/13: BFN
    
  • Third Cycle: Unmedicated ICI w/ Donor Sperm: 10/13/13, 10/15/13, 10/17/13, 10/21/13: BFN
    
  • January 2014: Sonohysterogram shows excellent lining & tubes have no blockages
    
  • Fourth Cycle:  Monitored clomid cycle  w/ ICI's at home: 1/24/14 and 1/25/14. Ovulation verified:  BFN
    
  • Fifth Cycle: 02/2014 Femara 5mg with ovidrel trigger CD14: BFN

  We're queer. I'm 33, have severe stage 4 endo, and had both fallopian tubes removed. My love ("Manada" on the boards, 32) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tavin and Casey at 21 weeks gestation.
  
  Our IUIs
  with @Manada: IUI# 1-7 (December 2012- September 2013) all BFN. Tried natural, femara, clomid, puregon/follistim, clomid and menopur combo, both the ovidrel and HCG triggers.
  
  Our IVFs:
  IVF #1 my eggs November/December 2013: Cancelled IVF due to poor response
  
  IVF #2 my eggs/Manada's uterus January/February 2014
  BCPs and lupron overlap Stimmed: 1/22-2/2: Bravelle and Menopur (dosage ranged from B300 and M150 to B375 and M150 to B300 and M225)
  2/4 retrieved 10 eggs. Endo was much worse than expected. Only 3 eggs fertilized; February 7 transferred two day 3 embryos, froze one. All great condition.
  BFP eve of 6dp3dt; Beta 1 (11dp3dt): 110; Beta 2 (13dp3dt): 175; Beta 3 (15dp3dt): 348; Beta 4 (19dp3dt): 2222; Beta 5 (21dp3dt): 4255
  1st ultrasound (3/6  6w 1d): TWINS!!!! Twin A measuring 6w1d with a heartbeat of 118bpm. Twin B measuring 6w0d with a heartbeat of 113bpm.
