Where did you get LO's cake? Bakery? Grocery store? Did you make your own?

Do grocery store chains do custom cakes? I cannot find a good baker near me to save my life.

Oh, and PSA - if you have a Shaw's near you, they do a free 7'' round single layer cake for baby's 1st bday for free.

We got ours from hubs job, BJ'S. It's cost 20 for a full sheet. We got half & half, chocolate/vanilla.
Since hubs worked there she customized and extra jazzed up our cake. It's was delicious and devoured quickly lol.

I'll be making Charlie's, but I'm a baker. I think some grocery stores do custom cakes. I know most can print off an edible image, or have certain kits they can use.

I'm making W's smash cake. It's nothing fancy though; just a chocolate cake with buttercream frosting.

We did a cupcake theme so I made a huge cupcake using the Bip Top Cupcake maker and made my own "healthier" icing.

Ugh don't. Don't get me started. My plan was to get one from Costco not decorated and decorate it at home with Owls. But apparently Costco can't put the chocolate filling on the vanilla cake. And DH doesn't like cream cheese which is the filling for the vanilla.
We ended up at wegmans. V really likes YoGabbaGabba so I said fuck it and ordered one of those. No one is going to think twice about it not being the theme of the party.
I am making a small owl cake for the birthday girl to go at.

Major high fives to the mamas that made cakes, I SUCK at baking. Or to afraid to try. DH is good at it but he is making Mickey mouse cupcakes. I wanted a bakery to do his custom Mickey smash cake and then just get a generic sheet cake for everyone else. @LiliDragon - I love the cake, great job!
