The first few months I didn't drink during the TWW. This time I drank more in my first week and only one drink in the second week of the TWW. So I was wondering who drinks and who doesn't? Just curious.
Son: Jackson, 11/02/06, stillborn due to PPROM and IUGR. Over the next ten years we had 9 miscarriages from 8-14 weeks. On May 18, 2016 my daughter, Ridley, was born. We're OADNBC.
I was at a conference and had to "go out with the boys" or w/e including my boss to the local breweries every night. I ordered one tiny 250ml beer and when I got the wtf questions I blamed jet lag. Still when my boss left the table the guys were prying if I was KU. I told them I would never drink if I was KU and they let it slide. They're awesome but seriously we know each other too well. I felt a lot better knowing so many drink 'till it's pink and everything is fine but I still felt annoyed I hadn't thought of a way out of it.
On second thought... I didn't temp while away but from my symptoms and temps from when I got back I'm fairly sure I O'd the day after I got back (late for me but it was a weird month.) So maybe I should have indulged. Oh well!
It's hard to not drink when you're around others, especially when you're known for drinking all the time. I tried not drinking around MIL one month, only had a small glass of champagne and she was looking at me weird. She doesn't know we are TTC.
Had a glass of wine tonight (7 dpo) and will start my POAS addiction this weekend. Hope it was my last for awhile and I won't feel at all guilty if I get a BFP tomorrow
I think alcohol is gross, but there's nothing wrong with drinking it during the 2WW. I don't even judge women who drink a little here and there during pregnancy. (I'm talking one glass of wine or one beer once or twice a week, not brandy in your afternoon tea or margaritas for happy hour. Let's be real.)

I have done both. Last cycle I didn't have a drop for 2 weeks....it was nice having a glass of wine on CD1 thought I would have rather had a BFP. I don't think there is anything wrong with drinking till its pink though.
I'm not really a drinker aside from the occasional glass of wine, or if it's been a really rough week.. Its well known that I don't drink, so luckily it doesn't look suspicious when I don't drink during tww. Its just my personal preference, but I don't judge anyone who does.

I have a feeling that's how my MIL and close girl friends are going to be if I don't... We always go to Saturday night Mass with my IL's and then out to dinner & drinks. I can only imagine if I didn't order my usual glass of Merlot. Once I do get KU'd, it's going to be VERY hard to keep it a secret for very long. Noone knows we're TTC either.

But if you start occasionally not drinking now, then it won't be as super obvious when you do get a BFP if you're wanting to keep it a secret for a bit.

I drink during TWW but have started going with gin and tonics these past few months. I figure it'll be easier to hide once I get a BFP since I can easily just have tonic with a lime
Married since April 2011-Homeowners since January 2012-TTC since June 2012
I don't, but it's not a big sacrifice for me since I'm not a big drinker. (I just don't care for the taste, even really sweet drinks. Crazy, I know!!) People go both ways on this issue. I understand both schools of thought.
Technically the baby doesn't start taking from you until at least 6 Wks. My 1 bbf drinks til it's pink, the other one cuts out all harmful substances even ib profen when ttc, but she'll take a sip or 2 while preg lol

That is funny she will sip wine while KU but not take advil!
I figured the most of my friends I see I will end up telling I am KU right away because I have diarrhea of the mouth when it comes to things like this. I always said I would not tell many people.... but I have a feeling my list of 5 will turn into 50 in the first month.
That is a smart plan though about gin and tonic! I drink Captain and diet for the most part, so it can look like I am drinking even if I am not.
I haven't been drinking much except for the first week of my cycle since my Doctor recommended not drinking while TTC. But I am rethinking it. After the first month of no beer I was seriously missing it, and it is not like I drink a ton, but I think it will still be noticed when I don't drink while out with friends. It was hard enough the other night when we had friends over, I had one beer and DH is telling me I shouldn't have it while we were in front of them! No one knows we are TTC. My MIL and FIL will be in town this weekend and I know it will look odd if I don't drink, so I am leaning towards the drink til it's pink camp!
