I get several replies to e-mails on a weekly basis where people spell my name wrong. C'mon people, READ my name that is right there in front of your face and spell it right!
Also happens to me. My name is bright orange in my work signature and I still get people that spell it Marissa, Marrissa, or my favorite from the other day: Martha.
One of my deans is named Marcia, so we get all kinds of screwed up emails since the first 4 letters of our last name are the same as well.

And now I have to run back to another thread to see if I spelled it correctly. I am usually pretty good with names but I never noticed the one s.
My name is Jennie and people ALWAYS call me Jessica. Which I wouldn't mind so much except for that's the name of my former friend that slept with my older kids' dad while we were engaged.

I have the problem in that my first name has at least three different spellings: Rachel, Rachael, and Rachelle. (The first one is mine).
My last name has a double vowel which really messes people up and 80% of our mail comes in whacked up. It annoys the crap out of me. It's still only FOUR LETTERS.

One of my customers (who I have worked with for 6 years) NEVER gets my name right. It bugs me so much. You are not alone! I feel like I need to come up with a way to misspell her name and see what happens.

my names Jessica and people always call me Jennifer. Lol why!
When I answer the phone I say "Good Morning! This is Katie"
"Oh Hello Janie"
hm?
FFFC: I let my kindergarten teacher call me "Kathy" for the entire year because I was afraid to tell her my name wasn't Kathy. At the end of the year my mom was there for a parent/teacher conference and had to tell her that her daughter's name wasn't Kathy.
Yup. Consistently I get Stacy or Stacey or Staci. Most annoying example of this, my baby shower invites. Not even kidding. I cried. A lot. I only knew because I saw the invite at my MIL's house. The friend that ordered the invites was all excited to give me the extras so I could save them. I trashed them. (
I would cry too! Especially since it's your friend and they should know how to spell it.

Oh I get all kinds of names over the phone. It brings my coworkers great delight. My first name is Story but I usually get Lori, Dory, Tori, Stormy, Jamie (WTF?) etc...
I had a dentist that called me Star for three years. I was like "Dude, look at the friggin chart"
This is my life as well. Everyone butchers my first name, and half the time they think my last name is my first. And at least once a week, somebody thinks I'm a man and addresses me as "Dear. Mr. T..." My email signature at work is my first name in bright pink. People are morons.
Yeah, with a name like Delaine I get a whole bunch of messed up stuff. Mostly mispronunciations, but I also get Darlene, Elaine, Delaney, Doreen, etc. Honestly, I get so tired of correcting people, that I really only do it if I'm going to have an ongoing relationship with the person. The nurse at the doctor's office or random receptionist? Sure, it's Delaney. Whatever.
My last name is horrendous. It is 7 letters with only 1 vowel, and two z's. It is constantly butchered
I feel ya, I don't think anyone has ever pronounced my last name right the first time they try. Most of the time they get it wrong the 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
MH was in his good friends wedding and they seriously his first and last wrong on everything programs, place cards you name it. You've known each other for 15 years, how do you get that wrong!

At my old job our emails were set last name first with no comma. So people would always write
Dear Lasname,
Blah Blah Blah.
I mean honestly. I don't even have a last name that could be a first name. Pay attention! ~X(
Yes, people used to address me by my last name to. "D o r r i s". Which is a first name, but not mine! ha.
my names Jessica and people always call me Jennifer. Lol why!

The most common ones I hear are Tamara, Kim, and Cameron. Also, my last name could be a first name so I get called that too!
Ugh, it's so annoying to have to correct people, especially in a professional setting.

And even my own relatives can't seem to get my last name right. It's FOUR LETTERS. Stop adding "e"s and "i"s people!
People always think I'm saying "Bruce" on the phone. WTF?

My co-workers last name is Dutch, you pronounce it Tyson but it's spelled couple SS's and an oddly placed J. :-/
