Baby passport photos

How...just...how do you even? I just had an insanely stressful morning trying to figure out how to get Mademoiselle Squirms to lie/sit still to get a neutral, face forward photo. I yelled at my husband, he yelled at me, it was a whole photoshop yelling nightmare (I never thought I'd be forced to yell, "DON'T USE AUTOCORRECT YOU DOUCECANOE!") Yet that's what happened!

I think we managed to print out something okay, but I'm so nervous. We're flying out the second week of September. To get her passport, both my husband and I have to be together with her, and to is the ONLY opportunity we have. Can't mess up passport day. I'm certain we're going to get to the post office and a smarmy, cranky, balding man is going to "hmm, Mrs. Milam" me and tell me exactly why our photo is off by the tiniest error.

I do, but how would they take the picture? If she can't sit still for me, I doubt she will for them. Or, if I bring in the pictures I've taken, will they fiddle with them for me on the kiosk dealie?

I agree with baker, I went to cvs and it was easy. They are really picky with passport photos so I wouldn't risk it. And to get her passport if your h can't be there all you have to do is take a certified letter from him allowing you to get a passport for lo.

We went to the DMV/Government Service Center to have the passport photo taken of LO and had his passport application done right there. I would either do that or go to a CVS or Walgreens - they know what they are doing. I wouldn't risk it.

Howell usually sizes people up a minute if they talk to them. Maybe if thi timing were right. They do this a lot so maybe they have some tricks up their sleeves.

Crap. This just reminded me to get on Baby Darcy's passport application... and the fact that I still need to change my name on my passport from Bennet to Darcy. Better hurry up, since we're going to Toronto in March!

So, at what age does LO need a passport? We go to Canada often, and come back and forth with his birth certificate often. We are planning Italy in April though, so I better get my butt in gear? And I agree, my kid won't sit still for me anymore to take a pic, but usually his couple of minutes of shyness will be enough to snap a pic, especially if he is to expected to smile

Have you checked into how long it takes to get a passport? Sounds like you might be cutting it kind of close? I'm not trying to be snarky, just don't want your trip ruined.

@MrsWhipple - oh yes, we are definitely cutting it close. But the tickets/plan I bought made it cheaper for us to change our dates than it was to rush the passport.

My grandfather is very sick. He's getting worse by the day, and my mother told me we just can't wait any longer. I was the first grandchild, and Evie is his first great-grandchild. Hence the short-timing.

edit: I forgot! Of course, our picture was a sniff too small. But, we completed the forms and husband took Evie to Walgreens and got the job done. We're all good and applied.
