switching formula brands

Is there a certain process you have to take when switching formula brands? Right now LO is on Gerber gentle and does great with it. It is the only thing he has had other than breast milk. Now that he is all formula I am realizing how expensive it is! I would love to switch to target brand in order to cut the cost in half. I have herd it is just as good.

Any thoughts?

    When I was switching from Similac to Parent's Choice, I did one ounce of PC to replace an ounce out of how many ounces he was eating at that time. So for example, he was eating 4oz, I put 3oz of Similac, 1oz of PC... then after 2-3 days I raised the ounces to two, then so on until it totally replaced it... but after two weeks he was having hard poop so I just immediately switched him back and he was having normal poop the next day.

    Thanks @clandestineX! That is what I am nervous about. Also, Gerber Goodstart Gentle is made of whey so I don't know if it will be more of a shock to his system. This makes me wish I could breastfeed longer!

    We switched from Enfamil Gentlease to the Target equivalent, cold turkey. She didn't bat an eye. Hopefully you will have a smooth transition as well. Good luck!! (And yes, SO much cheaper!)

    We started on Enfamil Newborn to supplement with and just switched to Enfamil Infant cold turkey (still only supplementing).. .she only gets about 20% formula, the rest is BM so I'm not sure if that made a difference, but she also didn't bat an eye.

    We eventually want to start getting the generic brand since it's the same thing, although since we don't buy a lot, the Enfamil brand is still cheaper cause we use the checks they send.

    I went cold turkey from gentle ease to target gentle. Doc said their are the same thing. He had no issues and still does great with it. However, if you are still doing BM then I would do a transition phase doing at least 50/50 for a little while.
