Advance maternal age induction

So I had a routine appt today and I asked my doctor about his originally telling me that he wouldn't have me go longer than 39 weeks before delivering. We talked about an induction the week of the 18th of Nov, and I asked it I was progressing on my own if he would still induce. At this point we wouldn't induce if I was progressing naturally at 39 weeks but if baby wasn't here at 39.3 then he would help her along. I called DH to let him know and I called my mom who then freaked out about the induction because she read the article posted this week about the correlation of autism and induction. The article says it is non-conclusive as to why there is a higher percentage of autistic children born with inductions but she now is concerned about the induction.

    I wouldn't be concerned about that at all. Can I ask how old you are? I am 37 and just talked with my doctor about this today. She said I will get weekly monitoring the last month but would let me go to 42 wks.

    I am 38 and doc had said from the beginning no more than 39 weeks. I wasn't too worried more trying to talk my mom off the ledge. I asked him if we scheduled one if I was progressing on my own if he would let me go naturally, he was probably but not more than 39.3.... I would like to schedule the induction for 39.4 because that is when I scheduled my time off, I realize that baby may decide on her own to come earlier... This is my first pregnancy and so far has been a pretty healthy one.

    I am 40 and my dr has told me they plan to induce if I go to 39 weeks as well. I have been nervous about it because of the chance if it doesn't work I would have to have a c-section. Then my mom saw that same article! She voiced concerns but I really don't think the chance of autism is high risk. My sister was induced and it didn't work so she ended up having a c-section...her son is fine. I'm trying to just relax and trust my doctor. I'm hoping it will just happen naturally before 39 weeks and we won't even have to worry about it. Oh, I would be induced around the 18th too! How funny is that?
    Me:41, DH:41 Positive for MTHFR mutations- one copy C677T, one copy A1298C. One daughter born on Thanksgiving in 2013. Six losses.

    I am 40 YO and My OB said she would offer induction at 41 weeks. I recently switched to midwives clinic. They do not press for induction until 42 weeks unless you have other health risks in addition to AMA.
