when did you start gaining weight quickly?

So I'm 20 weeks and I have gained 10 lbs so far. 6 of those, I gained in a week! But I haven't gained anymore this past week. I still feel so tiny, although the babies are growing fine so far. I'm just curious to hear when others started "packing on the lbs".

I gained 12lbs already and I'm only 15 weeks. I only gained a total of 25 with DD. I guess this being my second pregnancy and carrying two I'm just getting bigger faster?

By 20 weeks with my first I probably gained the same as you. I wasn't in maternity clothes until close to 6 months.

I have 2 other kiddos, but was so sick with them! I didn't even gain 20 lbs with those pregnancies. I haven't been as sick this time, so I just assumed I'd gain it so quickly.

I'm 20 weeks 5 days. I gained 2 pounds the entire first trimester and about 4 more until 17 weeks. Then I gained 5 pounds in 1 week and have gained about 3.5 more in the last 2 1/2 weeks for a total of about 14 pounds so far. My MFM seems to think I am gaining too much. Until 18 weeks when I had gained that 5 pounds in a week, I couldn't even wear maternity clothes yet, but now I have a real bump and growing and cannot even look at my old clothes now!

I would say that the weight gain was sudden instead of gradual for me, but now it is quick!

im at 21 weeks and up 9 pounds. I am still able to wear a lot of pre-pregnancy cloths and jeans my first baby (singleton) I got huge but these two im just now starting to even really show any sort of a baby bump its weird because my stomach is still so flat when i lay back you can see them rolling over and moving. Im at 120 pounds as of yesterday. but mine are growing well. Partly due to morning sickness still but im gaining very slowly about a 1/2 pound a week. But at last U/S both boys were at a great weight and size. Your weight gain seems pretty normal. Not everyone gains all the recommend weight

I gained 5lbs through 16w. I then gained 2lbs per week from then on out.

Thanks everyone! My ob keeps saying I should gain around 45-50 and I'm not so sure I will get near there. Especially after reading that previous thread discussing everyone's total weight gain! I figure that as long as the babies are growing well, then why worry?

I'm 19 weeks and I've only gained 7 if you go by pre-pregnancy weight 12 if you count what I gained back but I'm a little overweight so my weight recommendation is is 35 lbs not the 50 recommended for most people

I agree! I'm 28 weeks and I've gained 12-14 pounds so far. I'm overweight so my recommendation is about the 35 pound mark too. I think I'm starting to gain more quickly now and from what I understand, many gain the most in the last trimester. We'll see... my main concern is that the babies are healthy!

I'm almost 29 weeks with b/g fraternal twins and total I have gained 17 lbs. I had only gained 4 in the 1 st trimester and 6 in the 2nd trimester. Over the past three weeks I gained 7 but I'm all belly and babies!! The estimated weight of the babies the other day was 3.0 lbs and 3.4 lbs so 6 1/2 lbs of my weight gain is babies!! Lol! My dr is very happy as long as I am healthy and the babies are frowning and healthy. He does not look at weight gain.
