When I asked my ob at my appointment yesterday about getting the Tdap vaccine she said that I should get it at the hospital after the baby is born. She said you should not get it when pregnant. This was not what I had read or heard but I did not say anything to her at the time since she is the doctor. I have since read the CDC information which says it should be given to pregnant women. The only thing it does negatively is that it is a catagory C drug. I have heard most people saying that they got it while pregnant. I was just wondering if anyone else's doctor is telling them to wait until after delivery.
Re: anyone else's dr or ob/midwife saying to wait to get the tdap?

PgAL/PAL Welcome
This. My ob highly recommended it during the third tri so I got it
I'm also curious to see what they mean by it being effective after the baby is born. Do they just mean for the mother? I understand it will be effective for the mother, but what about for the baby?
I'm planning to get it, but I have to go to a CVS minute clinic or similar to get it as my OB office doesn't offer it. I was going to go today, but I didn't get out of the house all day.

I better get the shot today!
