Portable Booster/High Chair

We're heading to the beach in a few weeks and I've been planning to bring this portable booster/high chair that someone gave us as a gift when DS was born:

I got it out to try it and I'm not crazy about it. It doesn't really hold DS up straight/tight enough. DS sits up perfectly fine in restaurants' high chairs with just the lapband, but for some reason (maybe the material), he ends up almost completely slouched down in this chair.

All this is to say - can anyone recommend a good portable (i.e., takes up minimal space in the car) booster/high chair? With or without a tray is fine. TIA!

Hi, my son has this seat. It works great, it is perfectly safe, won't damage the table, and folds pretty flat, so you could pack in your suitcase. I'm flying to the beach for a week in october, and plan on putting this seat on the bottom of my suitcase.

I know you have a son, but we went to burlington coat factory and found Pnina one that folds up and can be latched on to almost any chair or sit on the floor by itself. She's so big we really don't use it anymore, but when we did it was a life saver! It's very travel friendly and easy to clean!

I'm mostly a lurker, but I have to second the BRICA travel booster that SandAndsSea mentioned. If you're trying to save space, it's the way to go. And the price is right!

We have this one. I got it for a whopping $15 on sale at Kmart and we have used it for both our boys. It works good for us because of the snap on tray. If you sit a plate of food in front of my little guy, he will always try to flip it over or throw it, but he eats just fine off of a high chair tray. Restaurant high chairs that just slide up to the table don't work well for us because of that, so this chair really makes going out to eat much more pleasant.

We use this as our everday seat, and I bring it to all restaurants since LO is so small she doesn't fit well in Restaurant ones. It can attach to any chair. Comes in non-delux too the only difference is the tray.

It is small, light, inexpensive, and easy to attach to any chair with a back. Plus we can just use it as a booster next to the table if needed without a tray. The downside is the tray is a little small and he can take off the top tray that pops off (so we don't use that top tray anymore), but overall it works really well.
