February 2012 Moms

No mom of the year award for me....

So DD added "God dammit" to her repertoire of phrases this morning. Not a proud moment for me... And of course, it came from me....

Sorry, I hope I don't offend anyone with my poor choice of words, I was just frustrated this morning as I was looking for DD's shoes and rushing around, and I said it once. It's not even something that I would normally say... like...ever... But out it came...

And of course, there DD was repeating it. I thought she was downstairs with DH because they were looking for the other shoe as well... but nope.

I realllllllllly have to watch what I say around DD now.

  • Oh no! DD is sometimes rough with the animals. She'll go to them, hit them once, then give them a hug. Whenever she hits them, we always tell her "gentle", "Be nice to the kitty", show her how to pet them etc......, then we tell her to give them a hug. She's interpreted that as, "oh, okay.. if I hit the kitty, I have to hug him. And then pet mommy." We're working on that. LOL

  • Oh don't feel too bad.  I dropped the s-bomb thinking my son was still outside with his father.

Nope they walked in right when I dropped a bottle of oily salad dressing all over a newly cleaned floor.

  • My niece made up a "damn it" song when she was about 2.  My BIL said it all the time and she heard it and made it into a song.  I use to have it recorded.  It was funny but not so funny.  They catch on quick now!

  • Oh this is my worst fear!!!  I'm pretty sure my son will probably drop "F" bombs!  I've been trying really hard to watch my mouth, but it slips...and F bombs are terrible and I don't know why, but it's my word of choice.

I'm surprised it wasn't an f-bomb, or the s word. I try to make it a point not to swear, but I don't always catch myself obviously. I told this to a friend of mine today, and she laughed... apparently when her son was 2, "f*cking idiot" was a phrase she said a lot (not to her son, just when referring to well... f*cking idiots) that he caught on to.
  • Count me into the category that needs a vocabulary adjustment.....
