Working Moms

Let me introduce myself (again)

Hi Ladies,

I had posted on here a couple of times while I was pregnant. DS is 6 months old now and I will be heading back to work in a few weeks. I'm a teacher so I've been lucky to be off since he was born in February, but I will be a working mom officially very soon so I just wanted to say hello!

I'm really nervous about going back. Socially, I know DS will do great. He loves watching other kids and is very active and happy. My two big fears are naps - which are pretty bad, though I started sleep training this week, and I'm also irrationally scared that he won't understand why I'm all of a sudden not with him all day and that he'll think I abandoned him. :-( Please tell me you get into a routine soon enough and everything will be fine. And if that's not true, LIE! :P

Re: Let me introduce myself (again)

  • Welcome!  I don't post often but do more lurking and get tons of advice from these ladies.  There is an adjustment period but it does get better.  Your child will not feel like you abandoned him - he will thrive and look forward to "school" and playing with his friends - mine do!  :)
