Spitting Up

LO is 12 weeks old and in the last week I have seen a significant increase in spit up. Is this a sign of teething and/or a reaction to something in my diet (we are EBF)? I will post this on the breastfeeding board as well - thanks ladies!

Re: Spitting Up

  • I don't have an answer for you but am wondering the same thing! My LO will be 12 weeks tomorrow and the past week has been spitting up more! I thought it may be due to his increased saliva lately!

  • I'm  not sure. LO is 10 weeks and has some days where she spits up a lot and other days where she does not spit up at all.

We too had an increase when the saliva increased. Around 9-10 weeks. I have actually seen less spit up lately. Still quite a bit of saliva though. Maybe he's getting used to it.

  • S spits up randomly, some days more than others and some meals more than others. Our pedi told us that most babies have some degree of reflux and spitting up is perfectly normal, but if she spits up a lot or all the time then that's probably a sign of reflux we should try to manage. He said that reflux tends to start manifesting itself right around 2-3 months as well.
