Lo is 14months and still sleep in his crib. I haven't purchased a bookcase for his room because I'm told that toddlers can climb them and tip over and even if I secure it to the wall, if he climbs he can fall.
Is there a type of book case that is safe for toddler's room or should I just forget about having one until he is older?
Re: Bookcase in Toddler's room
make sure whatever case you buy has the option to be bolted to the wall.

We bought this one for DS, from Land of Nod:

It still needs to be strapped to the wall even though it's low because it's definitely "climbable," but what I like about it is that DS can see the covers of the books. There are aleady books that he picks more frequently than others. It doesn't hold a lot of books, but a decent amount. Like pp suggested, you can rotate books in and out (and, we, too, have put away all of the "nice" books until DS is older.)
Baskets are a great idea too. That's what we use for his books in his downstairs play area.
Just get some wall fasteners and call it a day.
