Re: **IVF Weekly Check-In**

  • AFM - as mentioned, my ER was today.  I am doing a Mini IVF cycle which generally produces 2-5 eggs. We got  3.  I was a little disappointed, because I was hoping for more, but I am crossing my fingers that  they are great quality eggs and they all make it to freeze. I'll get a fert report tomorrow and then a cryo report on Saturday when they do  the freeze. So.....I guess I am officially waiting for FET. [:)]

QOTW: I really  really liked The Perks of Being a Wallflower. I know it's not new, but I thought is was pretty amazing, and I just saw it a few weeks ago.

    PAIF/SAIF Welcome!

  • Hi Everyone - My name is Katie and we've been TTC since May 2012.  I have PCOS and DH has ever so slightly abnormal morph and mot numbers.  This will be our first try with IVF and tomorrow I start my BCP for 10 days.  I'll stop my BCP on 8/23, then go in for bw and us on 8/27.  I'll start 225IU Follistim Pen + 15 units Low dose HCG on 8/27 and do that for 3 days and go back for another us and bw on 8/30.  They'll call me that day and let me know what the next steps will be - at least that's the plan right now.  I actually cried about this whole process for the first time today, but I think it was more happy tears that this could finally be the beginning of something that might work for us.  I'm surprisingly hopeful about this and have a great feeling!  Good thoughts and baby vibes to all going through IVF!!!

QOTW: It's been a LOOOONG time since we went to the movies.  But I saw Tallsdega Nights for the first time this past weekend and thought it was pretty funny!

  •  Hi! Wishing the current cyclers lots of luck!

AFM, I had my post surgery appt last week. I'm healing right up and we're cleared to start our next FET w/ my next AF. So happy to get things moving again! The waiting game is the worst. AF already showed for August, so it's looking like we'll start in early Sept. Almost there!

QOTW: Last weekend I dragged DH to see The Conjouring (I'm a scary movie kinda girl) but I wasn't all that impressed! Can't think of the last really good movie I saw.

@letsgobowlingx - GL with starting lupron.  I think it is the easiest of all of the injections I have done.

I agree that I didn't feel like I was really moving forward until I started lupron.  It just feels good to finally get to do something.

  • Hi, my husband and I have been TTC . Unknown infertility. We've done one IUI cycle and are on our 1st IVF cycle. I am on day three of stim medication. Menopur ( which hurts), follistim, synthroid, bromocriptine & one other pill. My husband is taking antibiotics. I tried acupuncture as a way of relaxing- had to switch doctors because the first doctor and I just could not communicate. Felt more anxious and frustrated after seeing her. Trying to staying calm, relaxed and positive as my eggs grow! :-) drinking water... Eating right. Praying we get pregnant at the end of the month... Praying for all of you on the same journey.

Hey @GermanGirl2007 - I'm curious as to why they're doing a FET and not a fresh transfer?  Just curious, that's all.
Apparently there have been some recent studies that show that FETs may have slightly higher success rates than fresh transfers.  At my clinic, that is definitely true - about 9% higher success rates with frozen transfers over fresh. Also, part of the philosophy behind Mini IVF is to transfer the embryos into the most natural environment possible so they wait until the next cycle when most of the meds are out of your system. We'll see if it works!
