GTKY: Brownies

Ok, so this is kind of a random getting-to-know-you question, but I've been wondering what other people thought since my husband and I discussed it the other day.

What kind of brownies do you prefer--cake-like or fudgy?

I prefer cake-like brownies personally. Fudgy brownies are just too rich for me. It seems like every restaurant nowadays serves fudgy brownies, though, so I was wondering if more people like those.

Re: GTKY: Brownies

  • I'm a weirdo...I like the chewy edges and the crispy top. You can leave the middle parts alone as far as I'm concerned :)

  • Loading the player...
  • Fudgy - and the middle piece!

@willman2585  Have you seen those little divider things for brownie pans that make all the parts edges?
  • @kelly422 what now? The brownie gods must have heard my prayers :) technology these days...

  • Fudgey, dense and rich! For anyone who likes that style, try this recipe: https://www.foodandwine.com/recipes/salted-fudge-brownies I guarantee they are absolutely the best and almost as easy to make as a boxed mix. I get rave reviews anytime I make these.

  • Fudgy. Dove makes excellllent brownies with chocolate chunks in them. Mmmm
  • Fudge/undercooked for me... Or just leave me the batter ;)

  • Cakey for me. I don't like fancy brownies either. I like them from the box mix or the mini ones sold in the bakery in Publix and Target. I prefer brownies to cake. I wish I had them more often.

**off to add mini brownies to grocery list**

  • This can be my UO an hour early: neither. I'm not a fan of chocolate.

  • Wow, I am greatly outnumbered! Only one fellow cakey brownie person so far. No wonder most restaurants serve fudgy brownies.

I literally gasped out loud at this ;-) I wish I weren't a fan of chocolate. I would be so much skinnier!
  • I like them both...under baked is awesome. I have made some brownies lately that were so good! The first ones were milk chocolate with Oreos and Reese's peanut butter cups and the second had a chocolate chip cookie layer, Oreo layer and then dark chocolate brownie on top

This. I hate brownies and I think all chocolate is gross. The smell and taste make me nauseous

  • fudgy but regardless warm and under ice cream!!
  • Cake like but chocolate chunks that make is fudgey in some bites. I make them from scratch, no box or bag for this girl.
