Can't cancer give it a rest??

After the loss of my cousin three weeks ago, we just found out that my other cousin on my Mom's side of the family has cancer. She had a lump on her ankle that she thought was nothing and one Doctor told her that it wasn't anything serious...she waited two years to get it checked out by another doctor. They removed the tumor sent it in and sure enough it came back being cancer. She is now going through extensive testing. Her Dad, my uncle...just went into remission. He battled cancer for several years. It's so sad and scary. There is so much cancer in my family.

How terrible. I'll keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. Cancer runs rampant in my family as well. My grandfather is currently on treatment #22 out of 42 of prostate cancer treatments.

As if enough of my family members don't already have cancer, now my cousin's pregnant 23 y/o girlfiriend has thyroid cancer..... last week, she was 33 weeks I think, and had surgery to remove her thyroid. She has to start radiation after the baby gets here, and she'll basically be quarantined from her new daughter for a couple weeks afterwards. heartbreaking!!! I HATE cancer!!!!!!!!

It is a terrible disease. We lost my Aunt 14 years ago at the age of 28 to cervical cancer. My paternal grandmother battled colon cancer and both of her brothers lost their lives to the disease. And, my second cousin is battling thyroid cancer at the moment. I have also had several friends battle breast cancer. I'm sorry your family is going through this. It is way past time for cures to be found.

Cancer is terrible and terribly common. I literally saw my grandfather die and my uncle shrivel to skin and bones (they actually died exactly 1 year apart). It is a very real thing to deal with and I am sorry you & your family are going through this right now. I hope she gets the treatment she needs. Just know you are not alone

I know what you are going through. It's an awful disease! My mom had her thyroid removed last December, did the radiation treatment after and still has some cancer on her bones - the cancer moved from her thyroid to bone. So now she has more radiation this September.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I'm sure it's extremely hard for you to deal with it, especially expecting a little one. I will pray for everyone battling cancer and for everyone that has a loved one fighting it right now.
