  I only ask because the cake smash comes with the one year family shoot we booked (I am not this organized all the time haha!) I think it'll be fun but wouldn't pay for it otherwise

  Alice will either be in just a diaper or a solid color onesie. That way I can reuse her birthday dress for Halloween.

  I'm thinking I will get a happy birthday onesie. It will be too cold for him to be in only a diaper. I don't think I would dress him in the birthday onesie any other day so it wouldn't bother me if it got ruined.

  EIther a plain cloth diaper or plain white onesie and his hat, if he keeps it on. We have a ton of plain white onesies so I wouldn't care if it got ruined.

  the icing will definitely ruin clothing...it's often made with tons of butter or shortening and that's not coming out of good clothes.  I would go with a diaper, or anything that's "disposable" to you
  
  ETA...also if the icing is coloured...the food colouring will also stain big time

  My mom makes bibs out of hand towels. He will wear a special first birthday one of those and his diaper.

  Our photographer is going to shoot a cake smash at her 1-year session.  Guess I'll strip her down to a diaper for the cake part and save her cute outfit for her party!
