My DD did great during her echo!!!! Granted, she had to get Versed this time, but she did awesome! I was very happy, and she was a champ with the whole thing!

We went camping this past weekend. The last time we went, DD1 was 18 months and completely FLIPPED OUT about sleeping in a tent. It was a disaster and we ended up finding a hotel room around midnight.
This time was great. She was so excited about roasting marshmallows, she learned how to cook hotdogs on a long skewer, sleeping in a tent was NBD and she wants to do it again soon. I think it's the start of many a family camping trip!
Both of the girls had so much fun and DD1 cooed over her two little cousins who were there with us and really tried hard to play nicely.
Today marks the first full week of PreK 4. It started last Wednesday and the first few days were just as tough as we had expected. I was hoping that it would go well, but I wasn't holding my breath. By day 2 he had landed in the principal's office for biting, throwing and licking tables (which totally freaked his teacher out, even though we had discussed it in advance). His stress levels were through the roof, so much, when I picked him up each afternoon, that he wasn't even making sense. And last week they were only 1/2 days.
HOWEVER, this week, so far he has gotten a sticker every day (which the behavior chart says = A Great Day!) and his teacher gave me a thumbs up in the car line this AM!!!
I am hesitant to celebrate prematurely, but the last time we tried prek he didn't get ANY stickers. EVER. So I am going to call this a WIN!!! For today at least.

DS2 goes to the developmental preschool twice a week and started this past Friday. He has not cried at drop off either time yet! DS1 starts kindergarten (first full day is this Friday) and did not cry when I dropped him off for his testing yesterday! I am thrilled because I thought FOR SURE I would have to be peeling children off of me!
Hopefully this works. I'm rubbish at posting pics here, but this is Chris on a ride ALL BY HIMSELF at Governor's Island. Granted it was a slow moving ride (one of those that just goes round and round) but he went on it once with me and then when we had him go on it again, I took a chance and put him on by himself and he was JUST FINE. No freak-outs or anything. I was so proud.
DS is so excited for Kindergarten to start on Monday.
Totally random but we were driving to go to a play date as my SIL pulled in to our neighborhood. We passed them and he asked of they were going to our house, I said yes and he said "K (almost 6 year old niece) is going to get to our house and say Hey where's B (DS's name). She's going to miss me". He totally put his perspective into her's.
He's also been playing a little bit better independently playing, without electronics.
This is pretty freaking huge!! DD pee'd FIVE tmes on the potty Tuesday. She is doing so great with it, such a little trooper. She warns us by saying "OH NO! Pee Pee Pants" and we rush her off to either the regular toilet or her pink potty. She usually sits there a while, and either does notihing (false alarm) or starts crying for us to "change a diapy", which is how i know she really has to go. I'm just so proud of her because she could easily end up in a tantrum but she just sits there crying until she goes.
Today was a little different. She woke up dry but wet her diaper before I could put her jeggings and panties on her that was around 10am. She ended up not wetting at all until 6:30pm, but it was on the potty again! I felt bad because she was moody and uncomfortable from holding it but I was proud she stuck it out. After her bath tonight she was running around sans diaper and randomly on 2 seperate occassions walked to her potty, lifted the lid and pee'd all on her own. unreal...did we really just go through the whole day with her holding it for her to randomly do it on her own? I'm wondering if she just hates the fanfair of having us cheer her on.
My only concern right now is pooping. She is going on day 3 of not doing so, and I know it has to be related to not having her diaper. I don't want her to get constipated (past issue) but she doesn't warn us about having to pee if shes in a diaper.
Anyway, I"m just proud of her for working so hard and doing what I know she hates to do with such minimal fighting
DS was invited to the team in our gymnastics club. He is ADHD, SPD and severe anxiety. Because of the anxiety I am not sure if he will do competition. I don't care. he only started this last winter and he is doing so great! I am beaming. A little nervous about 2 hour practice, but we can figure that out.

DD1, 1/5/2008 ~~~ DD2, 3/17/2010
I yelled at him and told him to get out of the boat. And I woke DH to get up and keep an eye on DS.
No more boating for us especially down the stairs.
