Vacation

My DH decided that we need to take a vacation.  Without DS.  I'm not sure how I feel about this- I'm a little nervous but a little excited.  I have put DS to bed every single night of his life except for 3 nights- and I can't imagine being away from him for a full week!  

Who here has left their kiddos to go on a vacation?  I'm sure it'll be fine -but any tips?

    I don't think I'd feel comfortable with a week-long vacation without DD.  But we do plan to take two long weekends in the next few months - once while my in-laws visit and once while my parents visit. 

    All our family lives on the other side of the country so I feel like we need to take advantage of when they are in town to get away by ourselves a couple times before LO #2 arrives this winter.

    We're going to Puerto Rico for 6 days in October. My in-laws are coming up and he'll be in daycare, too. I'm started to get sad about leaving him. He'll be fine, though.

    I think the longest I could do is a long weekend. I would honestly love to just do one night. I would take ambien and SLEEEEEEP like I haven'y slept before.

    Do it!!!! Have a blast! We have left DD with the grandparents for 3 days and 4 days; it has been fine both times.

    DO IT.

    That being said, I haven't left B - yet. We had plans to in June but life got in the way. Hopefully end of Aug or Sept we will go away.

    We had grand plans to go to New Orleans to celebrate our anniversary. We have left Kate twice overnight with my mom, where we have gone places that are within a couple of hours away. It was so nice, but in the end neither of us could stand the thought of 5 plus days away from her, and to be so far away. So end story-Kate is coming with us to New Orleans. However, if we did leave her we would all be fine, and I'm sure you and your son will too.
