Clomid & alcohol

After ttc for 20 cycles, I have lost my resolve not to drink alcohol while ttc. Should I renew my resolve since I am on my first round of Clomid?

I drank 2.5 tonight because my best friend arrived in TX from NYC and I have drinks planned for Friday with an old girlfriend from college I've been wanting to reconnect with.

Tonight's drinks on Clomid made me feel dizzy and have blurred vision. Now I can't sleep and I feel hot and a little nauseous.

I know some experts say drinking alcohol reduces your chances of conceiving. I'm also wondering if it can reduce the effectiveness of Clomid.

I hate to cancel my plans for drinks with my old girlfriend from college, because who knows if we will ever make plans again.

What do you ladies think?
Me: 37; DH: 35, SA normal ttc 1st since 11/2011 1/2013: HSG 2/2013-4/2013: acupuncture 3/2013: SHG 4/9/13: lap removed stage 2 endo & ovarian cyst 9/2013-11/2013: Clomid 3x 12/2013: IUI/superO 2013: spent $4,900 on treatment Waiting until 1/2015 for IVF insurance

    I don't know about clomid, but I would go and have a good time with your old friend. Have one drink and enjoy a night out.

    I rarely drink so I wouldn't consider having one...you can celebrate with your friend by eating good food, sharing lots of laughs, and drinking fruity cocktails. The fun will be great and take your mind off other things.Just enjoy the outing, your friend and a few cranberry, pineapple, and ginger ale cocktails.

    Thanks ladies. I have rescheduled for dinner instead of just drinks. I let her know I was taking some new medication that I found did not react well with alcohol, so she won't be disappointed or surprised if I don't drink. I will just have one if I have any. I appreciate your support.

    I agree - just do dinner. Not because it will reduce your chances, but because it sounds like you didn't feel so hot afterward.
    Me:39 Dx LPD, Fibroid, AMA and all that goes with that. H:37 Dx low motility and low morphology. TTC since 3/12. Clomid 8/12 and 9/12: BFN. 11/12 on a break for Myomectomy sched. 11/26. Resume TTC early 2013.
