  I bought mine on amazon and actually got a plastic one at first... I returned it for a new one and got a real amber necklace the second time! Make sure you look up the company who ships it to make sure it's legit! Since Dd has been wearing hers it has made a HUGE difference with the fussiness and teething!

  I actually was afraid of that too, so I use it as an anklet. After using one for a week with no results I thought it was a placebo/fake. Once I tried this new one the difference is amazing!! I will forever swear by them.

  Ditto... Or a choking hazard if it somehow breaks. Not to mention that (in my personal opinion) they look ridiculous on little boys! Even if they are "boy colours"....

  I think they are perfectly cute on boys. They are non toxic and the good ones are knotted after each bead so if it broke they wouldn't fly everywhere. It is known to be a natural healing method, and anytime I don't have to give my tiny kid drugs to relieve pain, I'm happy about it.

  If you get it pretty warm it should smell like pine tree resin. If it is plastic or glass it won't have that scent.
